Size: 2103P-J Frequency conversion control escalator/ passenger conveyors 1.1 Use of Escalator/Passenger conveyors 1.1.1 Start of Escalator/Passenger conveyors Two 3-gear start key switches are fixed respectively on the oblique cover and apron board of escalator/passenger conveyors. Insert the key in the lock~hole and turn to the requested direction, and then the steps run and accelerate to the specified velocity. 1, 1.2 Stop of Escalator/Passenger conveyors In case stop is requested during the escalator/ passenger conveyors running, press the red button fixed beside the star key switch to cut the circuit then the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop moving. 1.1.3 Illumination of Escalator/Passenger conveyors The step-lighting will be on automatically when escalator/passenger conveyors starts to move upward or downward. Step-lighting is designed for the passengers to mind their feet when the steps are emerging or disappearing. A green fluorescence fixed below each of the up and down levels will remind the passengers to adjust their stance on the steps and ensure their safety. The balustrade lighting/skirt panel lighting is optional. They are automatically lighted when the escalator/passenger conveyors begin to run. 1.1.4 The water level detection of escalator/passenger conveyors Page lof 7 The water level detection is used for open air type escalator/passenger conveyors. When the control pole detect higher water Level, it can-shut down the control-circuit power and make the escalator/passenger conveyors stopping. After the water level fall to safety level, it must restart to run, 1.1.5 The heater of escalator/passenger conveyors (optional) The normal temperature of escalator /passenger conveyors is 0 ‘C-~50'C. When the environment temperature is too low, it must heat for a season before running. 1,2 Control of Escalator/Passenger conveyors 1.2.1 Main Loop of Escalator/Passenger conveyors Frequency conversion control escalator / passenger conveyors adopts 3VF control system, The frequency converters have the quality of energy-conservation and casiness. Escalator / passenger conveyors velocity is controlled by frequency converter with the signal sent from programmable controller (PLC). The conversion of different velocity is controlled by photo-detector and PLC internal timing control. Phase-sequence relay of the main loop provides phase-failure protection. 1.2.2 Running Modes of Escalator/Passenger conveyors Two running modes of escalator / passenger conveyors are inching running under inspection and auto running under normal state, See detailed operation principle in Control Box Debugging Steps. 1 8 Safety Loop of Escalator/Passenger conveyors Escalator/Passenger conveyors Protector: a, Braking system There are four red braking buttons :on the skirting upper and lower , on the machine room upper and lower. These buttons can shut down the safety circuit effectively and rapidly and make the escalator/passenger conveyors stopping. Page 2of 7 b, Motor overload and overheat relay There is a thermal overload relay. When the motor current is over 120%, it can shut down the motor power and make the escalator/passenger conveyors stopping. c. Main drive-chain safety switch Protect against the risk of drive chains breaking or elongation. When the switch acts, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. d, Broken step-chain safety switch Protect against the risk of step-chains breaking or undue elongation. When the switch acts, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. e, Comb plate safety switch Protect against ‘the risk of foreign bodies being trapped at the point at the point where the step enters the comb, When the switch acts, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. f, Handrail inlet safety switch Protect against the risk of foreign bodies being jammed into handrail inlet. When the switch acts, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. g, Handrail speed monitor Act when the handrail speed is over 110%. And the escalator /passenger conveyors will stop running. h, Step sagging safety switch Protect against the risk of steps breaking or sagging. When the switch acts, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. i, Skirting safety switch The switch will be actuated by resultant pressure on the skirting panel and the escalator/passenger conveyors should be stopped to avoid the risk of cau ed by the foreign bodie between the step and Page 3 of 7 the skirting panel. j. Direction reversal device When the travel direction is contrary to the direction setup, the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop running. Escalator / passenger conveyors is equipped with LED fault Light for the convenience of maintaining. In case of failure, corresponding safety switch will function shifting from green to red, See detailed light indication in Fault Indication Contrast Table, 1.2.4 Maintenance of Escalator/Passenger conveyors (brief) It is the first thing to find out the reasons of escalator / passenger conveyors breakdown, Since the most of them are caused by switch movement of safety protection switch, LED indicators shall be inspected whether normal or not. All the lights green means everything normal; in case of any red light, the corresponding safety switches functions.and shall be reset after detection. In case of several switch function, it shall be detected and reset one by one; if normal, look over again whether the programmable controller (PLC) is on RUN, If not, shift the little switch in the PLC to RUN and the corresponding RUN light will be on; If RUN, recheck the incoming power to see the phase sequence indicator lamp whether green or yellow. Green means the incoming normal. If yellow, shut off the power and exchange any two-phase inlet wire to normal, Check whether the PLC input terminal has input and corresponding output terminal has output. Find out the reason and replace the damaged components and parts and the trouble will be got rid of rapidly. Page 4 of 7 Section 2 Control Box Debugging Steps Shut off QF1, QF2, SA, dismantle phase sequence relay and disconnect the main lead. Preparatiol 2.1 Phase Sequence Inspection 2.1.1 Check whether the voltage among the cable L11, L12, L13 and N within 220V+5% , close QF1, then close FUl, FU2, FU3, the.cable of phase sequence right and the green light on, 2.1.2 Cut off any phase can disconnect any one of FU1, FU2, and FU3. Watch whether the phase sequence relay functions is working. It shows the phase-failure protection is effective that the yellow light is on. 2.1.3 When either phases exchanges position, watch whether the phase sequence relay functions. It shows the phase~failure protection is effective that the yellow light is on. 2.1.4 Disconnect QF1, wiring returns to normal. 2.2 Safety Circuit Inspection 2.2.1 Insert FUL, FU2, and FU3 fuse and close to put through QF1. It means all safety switches are normal if all diodes on the fault play panel emit green light. It shows the corresponding safety switch is at fault in case one emits red light, which shall be solved until all the diodes emitting green light. 2.2.2 Apply multimeter AC gear to check whether the vol tage between PLC: L and PLC: N is ACLL0OV+5% In case no voltage detected, first check whether the FU6 fuse blows out, then whether the phase sequence relay KPH functions until the voltage between PLC: L and PLC : N resumes ACLLOV+:5%, 2.3 Operating Inspection 2.3.1 Insert the aero-plug on the inspection box into the socket of up control box or down control box. Page Sof 7 2.3.2 Turn on the jerk switch and press the upward or downward button, the main contactor KML, KM3 will pick up, so will the contactor KMU (KMD) and running contactor KM2. Then the steps lights on, the brake off and the escalator/passenger conveyors will run in full speed. Loose the upward or downward button to release KM1, KM2. KM3. KMU (KMD), the band brake picks up and the inspecting run ends. 2.3.3 Insert two aero-plugs (attached plugs) into the inspgétion sockets of up and down control boxes respectively. 2.3.4 Insert the key into keyhole and turn to UPWARD, the KM1, KM3 will pick up then so will the KMU (KMD) and KM2, the brake off and the escalator/passenger conveyors run at rated velocity. After 30 seconds delay (depending on escalator hoisting height and passenger conveyors length), in case the photo-switch detects no pulse, which also means no passenger taking, the escalator/passenger conveyors will shift to low velocity run, When passenger mounting, the photo~switch will give PLC a pulse, then the escalator/passenger conveyors resumes rated velocity. 30 seconds delay after the’ last pulse (also means no passenger mounts during this period), the escalator/passenger conveyors will shift to low velocity run so as to save power. If stop needed, push the STOP button and the escalator/passenger conveyors will stop. 2.3, The downward running of the escalator/passenger conveyors is similar to the upward running. 2.3.6 The key is required to restart the escalator in case of any stop caused by accident or man. 2.4 Velocity Monitoring Inspection 2.4.1 When applying velocity meter inspect armrest belt, under normal running condition, the programmable controller calculate the Page 6 of 7 belt velocity by on-off counting to photo inspection switch HGDL and HGDR. The escalator/passenger conveyors runs failure~free when the windage of armrest belt running velocity and rated velocity is no larger than 10%, Otherwise, the programmable controller will produce a stop signal, the escalator/passenger conveyors stops running, Velocity will not function when inspection running. 2,4,2 when applying step chain wheel to velocity-meter, under normal running condition,. the progranmable controllers calculate the belt velocity by on-off counting to photo inspection switch TJS and TJX. The escalator/passenger conveyors runs normally within regulated velocity scope, Otherwise, the programmable controller will produce a stop signal, the escalator/passenger conveyors stops running. Velocity meter will not function while inspection running. 2.4.3 Middle-rear plate switch (optional) A switch had be installed in the upper machine room and the lower machine room separately. The switch will be recovered to their normal position after the opening of middle-rear plate. At that time, the escalator or moving walk will be in inspection situation automatically, and it can only run in the inspection mode. The switch on the outer decking isn’ t function to ensure the safety.
