Cultural Information
Culture: The culture of the Ossians is almost totally unknown to the
other species of the Galaxy, as the Ascendancy rarely engaged in
diplomacy. One thing is clear, however - they are exceptionally old,
ancient, even. As such, their technology is superior to almost every
other nation in the Galaxy, only rivaled in scientific prowess by similarly
old species. The Ossians, thus, possess a high ego, as their
technologies allow them to achieve wonders one can only imagine, such
as more intricate terraforming techniques and the ability to build space
structures of behemothic size. The architecture of their constructs is
prominent for its pseudo-organic, or biomechanical look, with the
bowels of ships more resembling the innards of a living organism. Their
buildings are huge towers of the same design that resemble tall grass.

The Ossians have a tradition that involves the sacrifice of a member of

their society, a chosen one, to seed planets with life to hasten their
evolution. It is theorized that some of the current species of the galaxy
are the result of this tradition, but direct links could not be established.

History: The history of the Ossians is foggy. Not many details are
known. What may be certain is that they have evolved on their
homeworld in the Delta quadrant and, over the course of their history,
became a mighty empire that dominated their corner of the Galaxy.
Though, after years of stagnation, they have receded closer to their
homeworld and lost some of their technologies. However, as of
recently, they appear to have made a comeback, expanding their
territories once more and conducting new research to regain their lost
tech.
