Safety Important Information
The main part of the accidents during the working and the maintenance on operating machines and site fixtures
are caused by not complete respect of the most elementary safety rules, before the accident, into some poten-
tially dangerous situations.
The personnel charged for the management of the machine and of the relevant site fixtures must pay the maxi-
mum attention to the possible potentially dangerous situations. These operators must be properly trained and
must have the capacity and the proper tools to execute correctly the several needed operations.
The use, the lubrication and the maintenance or the repairing procedures executed in an improper way on
this kind of machine can be extremely dangerous and can cause serious injuries up to the death of the
personnel.
Do not operate the machine or execute any lubrication, maintenance or repairing procedure on the ma-
chine before having read and well understood all the information present into the subject manual relevant
to the use, the lubrication, the maintenance and the repair of the machine itself.
The fundamental safety rules to be respected are described into the section B “Safety” of the subject manual.
Some additional information are also pointed out during the description of the operations if their execution can
cause some specific risks.
Into this manual, the special safety warnings are pointed out by the three symbols shown here below:
HAZARD
It represents extreme hazar d; if you fail taking the necessary measures you (or others) are
very likely to get killed or severely injured.
WARNING
It represents a serious hazard. If you fail taking the necessary measures, there is a risk that
you (or others) get killed or severely injured. It also indicates the possibility to create seri-
ous damages to the machine that can consequently become unsafe.
IMPORTANT
It introduce a recall to the safety procedures, some technical information or some practical
advises with the aim to make possible a more efficient and economic use of the machine
respecting at the same time the safety and the environment. The respect of the rules
pointed out under this symbol usually helps the working execution.
Into the manual, the message pointed out under the symbols can be as written as shown (by means of figures).
Some special adhesive labels or warning plates have been positioned also on the machine. Such plates provides
some proper instructions concerning the operating mode to identify the hazards that can cause, if they are not
properly taken into account, serious injuries and also the death for the personnel working on the machine and also
for other involved people.
DRILLMEC can not prevent all the possible circumstances that can cause potential hazards during the real
operating and working conditions of the machine. For this reason, the warnings recalled into the subject manual
and pointed out on the machine itself can not comprise all the possible situations involving potential dangers.
If the operators use, during the execution of the several operations, some procedures, some fixtures and some
methods not expressly recommended by DRILLMEC, they must be sure that the work is executed respecting all
the necessary safety rules for the personnel and for all the involved people. It is also necessary to ensure that the
machine can not be damaged or became unsafe as a consequence of an operating, lubrication, maintenance or
repairing procedure chosen by the Customer.

C-1.1 STORAGE
1. It’s required to pump clean water inside to the piping avoiding sedimentation of solid particles.
IMPORTANT
This operation is important because sedimentation of solid particles inside to the pump suction collector
during out of service periods (especially if these are cement mixture or bentonite mud), could cause mechanical
damages or less efficiency during new phases of start up.
When the system is stopped for maintenance reason or for scheduled period, this is considered out of service phase.
For the out of service phase it is necessary consider to perform the same instructions explained in the previous chapter
as well to signal the state of “out of service” with a notice.
For periods of “out of service” that could go over than 10 days, it is necessary to adopt special cautions to perform a
good mud tanks preservation:
1. disassemble and clean the valves, the suction and discharge collectors;
2. clean pipes and cover the surface with protective and anticorrosive substances.
3. Parts that are temporarily disassembled have to be clean, covered with protective substances and at last stored.
The mechanical parts have to be defended from corrosion and mechanical action like collisions.
The rubber items have to be defended from deformation and growing old; they don’t have to stored untidily and don’t
have to exposed to the light, heat and avoid contact with oil and solvents.
IMPORTANT
During storage time, periodic maintenance have to be regularly performed; before to take service after a long
period, it is necessary a precise check to each component of mud tank.
