Abstract
For the majority of Algerian students, learning English as a foreign language (EFL) is
one of the most difficult tasks. They struggle to adapt to the various components of the English
language due to its complications, especially in terms of writing skills. Within this context,
writing is considered the hardest discipline for Algerian students to adapt. So, it requires
effective tools to enhance their writing skills. In this context, different sorts of electronic
communication, including social media and mobile language applications, have emerged as a
result of the integration of technology and may have an effect on Algerian students' writing
abilities through excessive and indiscriminate use. In the current study, the impacts of mobile
language on students' writing abilities and the reasons for their writing issues were examined.
There were two ways to get the data for this investigation. To determine whether there is a
connection between the language used in texting and EFL students' writing issues. First, a
questionnaire was given to 45 master's students and 5 teachers from the department of English
at Oran II University. The survey was handed out as the first method of investigation into how
EFL students write on social media and mobile messaging apps. Second, using the observation
method as an effective way to explore whether there is a connection between the language used
in texting and students' writing skills, the researchers hypothesized that there is a connection
between students' writing abilities and their overuse of mobile language. Some believed that this
terminology may have a detrimental impact on their academic writing. Also, after employing
