Today im going to talk about my last lecture the name is The Seven
Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, is my favorite lecture actually, is a novel by
American writer Taylor Jenkins Reid. Atria Group Editorial published the
original version in 2017, although in 2020 the Umbriel publishing house
published the Spanish translation.
About the story, it is based on Evelyn’s entire life famous and full of
scandals that as an adult she decides to hire Monique to write her
biography, which has many secrets and one of them has to do with this girl
Monique.
Evelyn begins to tell how, as a teenager, she entered this world of fame and
it was when she met her first husband who helped her pursue her career as a
Hollywood actress, she went through several husbands and when she
married Harry, who until that At the moment he was her best friend, they
did it for convenience since they were both homosexuals and had their
partners in secret, who would believe that Evelyn had the love of her life in a
woman and that only one of her seven husbands found him important and
that the others they were only to raise their fame.
With harry she had her only daughter who died when she was young from
breast cancer and speaking of harry her partner was Monique’s father and
Monique’s father had left a letter before he died in the car accident.
In this letter, he told Harry that he could not be with him because he had his
wife and a daughter who he loved too much and Harry felt too sad about it,
when Monique found out what happened to his father and why he died. She
felt devastated and calm at the same time since she knew the truth about
everything and went on with the project of finishing Evelyn’s biography.
When Evelyn finished her story, she confessed to Monique that she was
about to die from breast cancer and for that reason she decided to tell the
truth about her famous life.
