Summary

August Pullman is a boy with severe facial deformities. He started his

schooling at Beecher Prep Middle. Because of his face, he is almost
immediately disliked by his peers. Before the school year started he
was assigned three buddies. Their names are Julian, Jack and
Charlotte. .In this summary, we will be going over the story of Julian.

Julian

Julian is a popular boy at Beecher Prep. He has plenty of friends as

well. One thing about Julian is that he used to have severe
nightmares. But that was when Julian was 7. Julian ends up being
chosen as one of August’s buddies. Julian is also good friends with
Jack, another one of Auggie’s buddies.

Julian never expected that his first time meeting Auggie would be
that surprising.Julian’s first instinct is to say ‘Dude!Dude!Dude!Dude!’
over and over in his head.

Julian starts to be remarkably different after August joined the

school.He bullies August on a regular basis.But at home,there is a
completely different story going on.Julian has started to have
nightmares again,because of August.Because of this,Julian’s mother is
angry at the school. She is especially angry at the director, a man
named Mr . Tushman .

Julian is starting to get ignored by Jack. One day , after Jack gets
paired up with Auggie for a science project , Julian asks Jack whether
he wants to partner up with him instead . That’s when Jack punches
Julian in the mouth.

At this point, new evidence of Julian bullying Jack and August comes
to light.Julian ends up getting suspended for 2 weeks.But his dad is so
angry that he decides to take Julian out of Beecher Prep.

Julian ends up going to Paris to stay with his grandmother.It is there

that his grandmother learns about August.But his grandmother tells
Julian an emotional story that she has never told anyone.
It turns out that that during World War II , the grandmother was
almost captured by Germans. But the only reason she survived was
because of a disabled boy named Torteau ,which means crab.But
toward the end of the war, he was caught and killed by German
soldiers.

After listening to this story,Julian starts to see Auggie in a whole new

light.As soon as he gets back home,he writes and apology to
August.Even thought he is going to a new school,he decides to do one
last thing to remember Beecher Prep. He creates a precept.It is;

Sometimes its good to
