SUMMARY
Anyone who dwells in the law of
circumcision has not yet come to the
true liberty that redemption offers all
that believe. It's because the law is

INTRODUCTION
God's word is the bedrock of the whole
universe (Psa. 24: 1-2). God is the
creator that was not created. He exists
before the time began and earth formed.
With THE WORD, GOD created the
earth and all that is in it - animals, birds,
males and females alike, the seas and all
the trees and grasses, only man he
formed with dust and breathed upon
(Jon. 1:3). God did not just create them
but supplies food to them all when due
(v. 27). The diversity of God's wisdom
must be appreciated by all his creatures.
The fowls of the air sing of the glory of
the God Almighty as they fly. The
firmament that holds the sun, moon and
the stars renders its own praises to God
in obedience (Gen 1:16-17). The
creator must be praised by all that he
created, in season and out of season.

someone David knew (Ahimaaz), he
assumed it was good news (He is a good
man, and comes with good news). I saw
a great tumult, but I did not know what

worse messenger because he didn't
know his message. A message can be
delivered beautifully, but the
messenger's first responsibility is to get
the message correct.

toward God. Barzillai was wise enough

heaven and he was rich toward God.

from a broader Biblical perspective, we
see the transforming work of Jesus
Christ. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have
become new (2 Cor. 5:17). The changes
don't come all at once and they are not
complete until we are resurrected in
glory, but the transformation is
nevertheless real. The Ethiopian cannot
change his skin nor the leopard his
spots; but the Lord God can transform
men and women if we turn to him.

I. Ruin threatened as before, that
the Jews shall go into captivity, and fall
under all the miseries of beggary and
bondage,
ii. shall be stripped of their clothes,
their skirts discovered for want of upper
garments to cover them, and their heels
made bare for want of shoes (v. 22).

prisoners taken in war, when they drove
them into captivity, naked and barefoot
(Isa. 20:4).
iv. Being thus carried off into a
strange country, they shall be scattered
there, as the stubble that is blown away
by the wind of the wilderness, and

v. If the stubble escape the fire, it
shall be carried away by the wind.
vi. If one judgment do not do the
work, another shall, with those that by
sin have made themselves as stubble.

viii. They made their pride appear,
but God will make their shame
appear; so that those who have doted on
them shall be ashamed of them.

SUMMARY
Sin is the blackness of the soul; it is the
discolouring of it; we were sharp in it,
so that we cannot get clear of it by any
power of our own. But Almighty grace
is able to change the Ethiopian's skin.
Neither natural depravity, nor strong
habits of sin, forms an obstacle to the
working of God, the new-creating
Spirit. Let us then seek help from Him
who is mighty to save.

answer to the prophet's prayers, in
which he declares himself inexorable,
and had resolved on the ruin of the
Jewish nation for their sins; the
prophet's complaint of the hardships he
endured, notwithstanding his sincerity
and integrity; and the Lord's promise of
protection and deliverance, in case of
his continuance in the faithful discharge
of his office. The Lord denies the
request of the prophet, by observing,
that if even Moses and Samuel had been
the intercessors for the people, he
would not have regarded them, being
determined upon casting them out, and
sending them away captive (v.1).

SUMMARY
It is matter of comfort that we have a
God, to whose knowledge of all things
we may appeal. Jeremiah pleads with
God for mercy and relief against his
enemies, persecutors, and slanderers.
Those who are with God, and faithful to
him, he will deliver from trouble or
carry through it. Many things appear
frightful, which do not at all hurt a real
believer in Christ.
