The patented VARI❋IMAGE™ process is a computer

guided laser ablation technique to create projected

patterns for all VARI❋LITE® spot luminaires. New

high resolution scanning technology enables simple

patterns, logos or complex pictorial images to be

created in a permanent glass format. These clear, crisp

images in an economical gobo format provide stunning

visual effects for all performance applications. Custom

images may be reproduced from any transparency,

illustration or data storage system for total creative

freedom. The full catalog of rental access and purchase only

DICHROIC COLORS & GOBOS

The VL6 and VL6B luminaires have a standard set of eleven dichroic colors. Additional rental access
dichroic colors are available. Three dichroic colors are available for the VL7 and VL7B luminaires.
Custom dichroic colors can also be produced upon request for direct purchase only. Contact your
nearest Vari-Lite location for details.
The VL2C spot luminaire’s DICHRO❋WHEEL™ dichroic color changer features more than 120
colors. Additional colors are not available.
Below are the VL6 and VL6B spot luminaire colors matched to popular gel colors. Note: These are
matched to an ellipsoidal reflector spot with a 3200˚K source.
Dichroic gobos are available for the VL6 and VL6B spot luminaire. There are six patterns available as
rental access substitutions. In addition, any gobo pattern can be combined with any dichroic color as a
purchase only gobo.

CUSTOM GOBOS
The VARI❋IMAGE gobo technology gives you the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind custom from
your company logo, your original artwork or your imagination. Gobos can be black & white or
greyscale.

Custom gobo orders are produced within five working days once the order has been confirmed and
artwork received.

Images can be processed from a fax, illustration, photograph, camera ready art or electronic media and
can be emailed directly to us. Due to the limitations of faxed or low resolution artwork, reproduction may
vary slightly from original art.

When submitting artwork, please indicate the desired luminaire type, orientation of your pattern as
well as the areas of the design which are to transmit light. Usually the black area of the artwork is
removed allowing the light from the luminaire to produce the pattern.

for submitting custom artwork.
