DEBATE: LEGALIZING ABORTION

A Debate is a formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly,
in which opposing arguments are put forward.

Using debates in the classroom provides students the opportunity to explore real-world topics
and issues. Debates also engage students through self reflection and encourage them to learn from their
peers.

Learning to Debate and Public Speak reaps life long benefits. Develop excellent oral and written
communication skills. Develop excellent critical thinking skills. Develop effective tools for research,
organization and presentation. You points must be relevant to the topic. Provide evidence whenever
you can and not your personal opinion. You must put aside your personal views and remain objective
when you debate so your argument remains logical.
