Syllables

Words are made up of parts that are called syllables.


Each syllable has a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u)
A fun way to count syllables is to clap the word when you say it.

Example: bat one clap one syllable


monkey two claps two syllables
forever three claps three syllables

Clap the words below and write down the number of syllables next to
each word.
