Parent note: From KS1, children are expected to use capital letters and full stops correctly when

writing
independently.
Full stops: Full stops are used to mark the end of a sentence that is a complete statement:
The cat drank some milk.
Capital letters: Capital letters should be used for:
• the first word in each sentence,
• the pronoun ‘I’
• proper nouns (names of specific people, places, organisations, days and months).
