Bercerita 2020 - Storytelling - Ling Yie Yien SK Sayap Kota Belud Sabah
Good Morning to the master of the ceremony, the honorable judges, the
time keeper, teachers and all my fellow friends. Today I’m going to tell you a
story with moral ending that will truly makes us appreciate our mother. The
story entitled “Unconditional Love”. Sit back, relax and enjoy the story.
My mother had only eye. I hated her, she was such an embarrassment. She
worked at the same school where I was studying.
She cooked for students and teachers. My Father was dead so she was
working to support the family.
“If you’re only going to make me a laughing stock why don’t you just die?”
I didn’t even start to think for a second about what I said because I was
full of anger. I didn’t care for a moment about her feelings. All I wanted is to go
out of the house. So I studied really hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to
study. Then I got married. I bought a house of my own, I had children of my
own. I was happy with my life.
Then one day my mom came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me for years and
she didn’t even meet her grandchildren. When she stood by the door my children
saw her and laughed at her. When I saw her, I immediately screamed at her.
“How dare you come to my house and scare my children. Get out of here
now”
“My dearest daughter, I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to
your house and scared your children. I was so glad when I heard you were coming
for reunion. But I may not be able even to get out of bed to see you when you’ll
come. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were
growing up. You know when you were very little you got into an accident and you
lost your eye. As a mother I couldn’t stand watching you growing up with one eye.
So I took mine and I gave it to you. I love you my child with all my heart, Your
Mother”
The moral of the story is we should love and appreciate our family
members while they are still alive. You may have a low self-esteem but if you
don’t have a family, you have nothing. You can’t buy it. You can have all the
money in the world but you just can’t buy a real family with real love deep in the
heart.
