It is intended for use bby KPLC in purchasing the items, 1. SCOPE 4.1. This specification covers the listed different types of Metal Anchors (Raw Bolts) for fixing into concrete brick and stone to secure steelwork and equipment used in ‘transmission and dstribution of electricity. TERMS AND DEFINITIONS 3.1. For the purpose of this specification, the definitions given in the reference standards shall apply. 3.2. Design and construction 4.2.4, The metal anchors shall be shell type torque-controlled expansion anchors with one ‘expansion sleeve cone as specified in ETAG 001 Parts 1 & 3 standard, 4.2.2. They shall be designed to offer a high performance steel expansion anchor, suitable for exceptional tension, shear and combined load performance in concrete. 4.23. They shall have high degree of reliability and shall sustain all actions and. Influences likely to occur during execution and use (ultimate limit state). 4.24. ‘They shall also rot deform to an inadmissible degree (serviceability limit state) and ‘shall remain fit fo" the use for which they are required (durabiiy). 4.25. They shall not be damaged by accidental events to an extent disproportional to the ‘original cause. The design working life shall not be less than that of the fixture (e.g. conerete). The sefety factors for resistance and durability in this case shall be based ‘on a nominal working life of atleast 50 years forthe fastening. 4.26, Allthe body parts shall be hot dip gelvanized by centrifuging process. The coating shall conform to a minimum thickness of 40,m or 285g/m as per the requirements of ISO 1461:2008, 4.2.7. The botts shall be designed from grade 8.8 bolts, with mechanical properties ‘as shown in Table 1, conforming to ISO 898-1, with triangular ISO thread in ‘accordance with ISO 68-1; diameterpitch combinations in accordance with 180 262 and thread tolerances as specified in ISO 985-1 & 2, 4.28.12. Turning the bolt head or the nut on the bot shal pull the working end of the slaeve anchor up through the sleeve, expanding and anchoring tse, securely inthe concrete, brick or block. 43.
