Please refer below for the response of the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB). MOP 2018 which was coordinated and consulted with the Oral Health Regional Coordinators. The service target is determined based on the region’s ability to comply with the target, Sune 10, 2022 EB-DPt ‘CB Virtual Meeting Basic Oral Health Care (BOHC) for Senior Citizens Based on the FHSIS MOP, BOHC (for senior citizens) refers to the one or more of the following services provided to senior citizens: (1) Oral Examination AND Q) Education and counseling on good oral hygiene, diet and adverse effects of tobacco/smoking and alcohol and sweetened beverages/food AND (if necessary) Oral Urgent ‘Treatment (OUT) What do we mean by “one or more of the following services”? Does it mean provision of Oral Examination, OR Education and counseling, OR (if necessary) OUT? To make the statement standard and uniform with other indicator/age, it should be: BOHC refers to the provision of the following (1) Oral Examination AND (2) Education and counseling on good oral hygiene, diet and adverse effects of tobacco/smoking and alcohol and sweetened beverages/food AND, if deemed necessary or as needed (3) Oral Urgent Treatment (OUT): relief of pain, extraction of unsavable teeth and referral of complicated cases to higher level In addition, can we remove the “as needed” for BOHC of Pregnant women Or rather is it provision of Oral Examination AND Education and counseling OR (if, necessary) OUT?
