PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE

Topic: The dangers of fake braces

General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To convince my audience to quit using fake braces.
Central Idea: Early exposure to the dangers of fake braces can prevent problems or damage to
teeth

INTRODUCTION
Attention
I. Compared to many other nations, Southeast Asian nations have substantially lower
orthodontist-to-population ratios for example, Malaysia's is 1:220,000. The inability
to meet demand is exacerbated by the shortage of expertise.

II. Teenagers who want to follow the trend or who simply want to create the look for fun
and as a status symbol frequently wear fake or homemade braces. Braces are seen as a
symbol of status, particularly in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the
Philippines, where the trend first gained traction in 2013. It is still very popular in
these countries today. Being a teenager myself, I am well aware of how easily trends
can impact us. I also understand how depressed we would feel if we couldn't keep up
with the cult since, as teenagers, we don't have our own money. This is simply due to
the fact that braces are often expensive, therefore the wealthier a person is, the more
likely they are to be able to afford orthodontic treatment.

III. Additionally, these kids had to wear false braces in order to "fit in" with their peers
who were also wearing braces.

IV. Teenagers have embraced today's fashions, but there are two children in Thailand
have died. I want to advise everyone to be aware of the risks associated with false
dental braces nowadays. I'll start by demonstrating how false braces can exacerbate
tooth disorders. After that, prone to expose to chemical and lead poisoning. And
discuss how it contributes to tooth decay and discolouration.
BODY
Need
I. Fake braces contain harmful and poisoning materials can caused death.

These fake orthodontic appliances are now quite simple to obtain because they may be
bought from online shops, local beauty salons, street vendors, or even night markets.

a) Thongchai Vachirarojpisan, the vice-president of the Dental Council said, they

identified a level of cadmium in the two samples they purchased from an illegal
vendor that was not present in the legal samples provided by a qualified dental facility.

b) Fake braces for teeth are composed of inexpensive, potentially toxic materials. The
use of fake braces puts people at danger because it is uncertain where the materials come
from and what they are made of. Since the manufacturer, manufacturing date, and
expiration date are not disclosed on the label, it is unclear whether the products have even
received certification from governing agencies. These materials include inexpensive
rubber and lead-containing metals, which can sometimes cause poisoning and even death.

c) For example, the metal from fake braces cause the death of a 17-year-old from a thyroid
infection that rapidly developed into catastrophic heart failure in the northeastern city of
Khon Kaen was attributed to a pair of fake braces. The death of a 14-year-old girl was
later linked by Chonburi police to braces bought from an unlicensed outdoor stand.

d) Furthermore, these braces are attached without a proper clinical evaluation and without
performing any radiographic research before use. Particularly in light of DIY brace-fixing
techniques, the accessibility of therapeutic equipment and its sanitary quality may be in
doubt. In the event of an injury, infection, or any other problem during or after the
installation of the braces, patients have no claim to reimbursement.
Satisfaction
II. Go get a professional consultant at an accredited and authentic dental clinic

a) Teenagers that wear fake braces must visit the orthodontic clinic right away to get the
artificial braces taken off.

b) To ensure there is no dental injury that could result in scrapes, wounds, and damage to
the mouth's interior and an orthodontist will conduct a thorough examination. The dentist
and orthodontist will administer the appropriate care.
c) For example, do an x-ray to look for tooth decay or any dental nerves that could lead to
decay.

d) People have to seek out a board-certified dentist or orthodontist, such as the medical
group, if you, your child, or anybody else you know is truly interested in improving their
smile. There are a lot of trusted dental clinic that can provide the best service and the
most important is not fake braces such as Imperial Dental Specialist Centre in Kuala
Lumpur.
Visualisation
III. Our teeth will stay healthy and will not kill the roots of the teeth or harm the
gums.

a) With that, everyone is advised to make an appointment for a dental check every 6
months.

b) Especially, the teenagers who wear braces because they need proper care so that the teeth
are always taken care of and get lucrative results.

c) Like, can you guys imagine, the beautiful teeth of yours turns into damage when using
fake braces just to fit the trend. It is not worth it at all. And thinking the consequences
that if you guys have to do teeth extraction because the roots damage. It is a nightmare
for all of us.

d) This dental care does not necessarily require a lot of funds. Because of this, teenagers can
get good braces services at government hospitals. Guaranteed original comparable to the
waiting period.
Conclusion
In the nutshell, I persuade everyone to stop and do not wearing fake braces. The
drawbacks much exceed the momentary thrill of adhering to a social media trend. Artificial
braces have an issue because of the materials they are made of. They are frequently hazardous,
and if you are careless, they could even take your life. Only through awareness and education
can contemporarily issues like the trend of artificial braces be addressed. Health officials,
parents, and guardians must keep an eye out for this. Younger generations need to understand
that following any trend is not worth putting their health or their lives in danger.
