 FECHA DE ENTREGA: 6 DE JULIO

My name is Sofía, which I always thought was a pretty name. It’s Greek, and it means
wisdom, something that, ironically, I wish I had. I think of myself as creative, absent-
minded and a bit hot-headed, but I’m sure the first thing that pops in people’s minds
when thinking of me is “weird”, and, I mean, they aren’t wrong. I am aware of my
weirdness, and, let me tell you, it comes in so many different forms to the point that it
drives me crazy. I used to be happier when I was little, when I wasn’t aware of how
different my brain worked compare to… other brains because I was a kid, and most
kids are considered… well, weird, because they are children that we know are going to
grow up, and mature, and change. I changed, but my weirdness is still alive and
kicking, differencing me from people my age.
Like I said before, I’m very absent-minded. I always have a hard time paying attention,
maintaining a schedule, being interested in something for more than half a month,
remembering things, etc. Still, I treasure memories a lot, mostly because they were
better times. I have a little wooden chest full of objects, and each represent something
from a certain date. I have little rocks from my grandma’s garden, or pieces of paper
from my arts classes from fourth grade, and even bracelets from long lost friends. That
little chest is my most important possession. I love looking back on things.
My memory and attention problems make my time at school more difficult than it
should be, and it just makes me feel so bad because the one who gets more hurt
because of my poor academic performance is my dad, and I hate to see him feeling
down. That’s why when I was informed that I had passed the Cambridge First
Certificate Exam with an A it felt like I won Miss Universe. It was my greatest academic
achievement to that date, and the first one to be so big. It was good for my self-
esteem and my parents were proud, which was all I needed.
Back to trivial things, my favourite sound is the sound of the violin. I think is the most
gentle, and refined and fierce instrument, it can portray so many emotions in such an
elegant way… It’s breathtaking. My favourite smell is the smell of wet grass. It reminds
me of the school camping trips, especially the ones from primary school, because the
scent was more noticeable after waking up in the early morning in a tent. Those
camping trips were always, no kidding, my favourite part of the year. The year would
literally start and I would already be looking forward to that year’s trip. I love
travelling, and those were like vacations with all of my friends to the most beautiful
places of our country, like, a dream come true. It’s a shame I won’t have any of those
ever again. And favourite taste? I don’t have any, I don’t really pay attention to taste. I
just know that there are certain foods that I like, and certain foods that I dislike, that’s
it.
I think that’s everything. I’ve been really lazy lately and I need to catch up with a lot of
subjects whose homework I haven’t done in weeks. This was really fun, it’s always nice
to reflect on things. I hope you have a nice day.

Sofi.
