the system could be affected adversely.
3. Specifications in the manual are subject to change for improvement without notice.
4. If you have any uncertainty about descriptions in the manual, please contact us.
Section “3 DESCRIPTION OF MESSAGES” describes all messages registered to the MGW-JL and subse-
quent power supply units in order of message numbers.
The EIS card in the text is a generic name of EIS, EIS2, and EIS3 cards. For the alarms having different
meaning depending on the cards, the card name is mentioned.
Cause:
Remedy:
Name: Indicates the name displayed in the message area of the screen.
Level: Indicates the level for the trouble remedy (see chapter “2.1 Trouble Remedy List”).
“Guide”: Displays message in white letters.
“Warning 1 to 3”: Displays message in yellow letters.
“Alarm 1 to 3”: Displays message in red letters.
“Dialog”: Displays message in dialog.
Reset: Indicates resetting method of trouble occurred (see chapter “2.2 Resetting Method”).
REMARK Alarm messages not registered to this alarm message list may be displayed because of
addition or change of functions. If you don’t understand the meaning of displayed mas-
sage, stop the operation and contact us immediately.
REMARK Some messages may not be displayed depending on the machine model, even if they
have been registered to this list. Please contact us whenever you are uncertain.
“Test mode stop” refers to the warning or alarm where the dry run or the operation with GRAPHIC screen
stops.
“Run mode stop” refers to the warning or alarm where actual machining stops.
REMARK Though the warning 1, 2, 3 or the guide can be reset also with the [RESET] key, the two
keys have different functions as mentioned below, thus bewaring of the key operation.
[RESET]: Deletes message and stops action at this time, the operation cannot continue.
Confirm the message number and its description on the DIAGNOSE screen, if an alarm or warning occurs.
REMARK The last one is displayed in the status bar if two or more message occurs.
REMARK The quantity of alarms and warnings is displayed “status display tab” of the screen right
side.
REMARK The message No., name and occurs time are displayed on the DIAGNOSE, (ALARM or
WARNING) screen.
Before contacting use to ask for help, please make sure the following items:
1. Confirm in detail that when and what alarm occurred under what conditions.
5. Check whether the same alarm recurs when the same operation is executed again, and confirm its fre-
quency.
6. Check whether the same alarm recurs when the conditions are changed.
Try to change the contents of program and operating procedure.
REMARK If “No Text FOR MESSAGE” or “NPC SYSTEM ERROR” occurred, please contact us after
confirming the situations where the error occurred and the message number.
The operation buttons and keyboard are different in notation between EW100A and MGW-K generators
(see “Table 2-3: Operation buttons and keyboard”).
As this manual gives descriptions using the notation for the MGW-K generator, understand the operation
buttons and keyboard by applying the notation for the EW100A generator.

Causes: (1) The contents of system ROM on the VMC card changed.
Faulty ROM or VMC card.
Erroneous contents in RAM on VOH card.
(2) This alarm is caused when turning power ON after changing ROM or when making
RAM clear (turning power ON while pressing [STOP] and [RESET] keys simultaneously).
This operation always causes this alarm, however, it is normal condition. Reset the alarm
by remedy (2).
Remedy: (1) For the machines with the power supply unit before MGW-J, please let us know the
data of machine parameters no. 830–836.
For the machines with MGW-J or subsequent power supply units, please let us know the
data of machine parameters no. 864–866.
(2) Perform the RAM clear operation.
REMARK Execution of RAM clear will erase all program data in the RAM, and therefore it should not
be executed unless otherwise instructed by Makino personnel.
Causes: (1) The contents of system ROM on the EIS card changed.
Faulty ROM or EIS card.
(2) This alarm is caused when turning power ON after changing ROM or when making
RAM clear (turning power ON while pressing [STOP] and [RESET] keys simultaneously).
This operation always causes this alarm, however, it is normal condition. Reset the alarm
by remedy (2).
Remedy: (1) In the case of cause (1) above, please let us know the data of machine parameters no.
864–866.
(2) Perform the RAM clear operation.
REMARK Execution of RAM clear will erase all program data in the RAM, and therefore it should not
be executed unless otherwise instructed by Makino personnel.
Cause: Occurs when cleaning RAM (turning power ON while pressing [STOP] and [RESET] keys si-
multaneously).
Display disappears soon.
Description: Voltage of the battery for the NC unit program backup dropped abnormally.
REMARK Replacement of battery unit is to be made within an hour after turning power OFF. If the
power supply is turned OFF continuously for more than one hour, RAM data may be lost.
Cause: Automatic power off was executed because the set data no. 34 bit 7 was turned on due to
an alarm or warning. This message is displayed at the power on operation next time.
When the bit 7 is turned on, the [AUTO PWR OFF] key returns to “0”, which indicates that
the power was turned off normally.
Remedy: Press the [RESET] key, and check the 0/1/2 position of [AUTO PWR OFF] key, and the set
data no. 34.
Description: The power on check found mismatch of version numbers between EIS firmware and ASC
firmware on the EIS card.
Description: RAM was not protected at power off (manual or power failure).
Description: An intersection was not determined at blocks before and after inner wire offset.
Cause: When the wire offset value is illegal, the intersection may not be determined diagrammat-
ically.

Fig. 3-5:
Description: The corner profile control ON was specified during wire offset cancel.
Cause: During the wire offset canceling, G44 also becomes invalid. It becomes valid from the
block in which the wire offset ON is specified.
REMARK In the following case, also G44 (corner profile control) does not work.
(1) At the corner with the block without movement during wire offset (G41 or G42).
(2) Until return to the original machining condition during recovery from wire breakage or
from power failure.
Cause: Spiral interpolation command (G25) was executed in other than wire offset mode.
Remedy: It is valid only in the wire offset mode. Program G41 or G42.
Cause: Taper corner tangential circle insection (G24) command was executed in other than the taper mode.
Cause: The Upper – lower same R command (G49) was executed in other than the taper mode.
Cause: When a prohibited area was set with G22 command, the end of movement entered the
prohibited area.
Cause: P_ or X_ command for specifying a dwell length is not in the G04 dwell command.
Causes: (1) The number of reference point (P command) specified together with the G30 com-
mand is not 2, 3 or 4.
(2) When G30 was specified, the reference point return had not been completed.
Cause: When G53 was specified, the reference point return had not been completed.
Causes: (1) The L command in the same block as the G28 command is other than 0, 1 (it becomes
L0 when omitted).
(2) The reference point return is executed to search for DEC when that operation has not
been executed yet, but its condition is improper.
The set data no. 66 setting is not “0”.
Causes: (1) The G28 command was not specified before the G29 command.
(2) An axis not specified with the G28 command was specified with the G29 command.
Cause: In the G95 command (Z axis position control command), improper value was specified.
Cause: A value other than the defined L value of the G10 command was specified or other ad-
dress code is out of range.
The L value that the user can specify is either of the following:
L1 : Changing offset value
L2 : Changing work offset value
L10 : Changing machining condition
L20, 21 : Changing entered machining condition (main, sub)
L50 : Changing model data
L80 : Changing taper surface data
L999 : Changing parameters (set data/machine parameter/system parameter)
Cause: The word in the G10 command block exceeds the allowable range.
Cause: The movement exceeding the set number of axes was specified.
Cause: The G10 command for power supply is overlapped. System error
Statement: G10 L13 P0 for machining OFF
G10 L31 P1 for machining ON
Cause: The G10 command for machine control is overlapped. System error
G10 L60 Statement.
Cause: The program end M code (M02 or M30) command was not in the main program.
Remedy: Specify the M02 or M30 command at the end of the main program.
Cause: There are five or more G10 commands in a block. System error
REMARK Those codes (M17, M07) that generate G10 internally are included.
Causes: (1) In case of metric command unit, command can be made only down to the 3rd decimal
place.
In case of inch command unit, command can be made only down to the 4th decimal place.
(2) Smaller than the decimal point is unavailable with an F command.
Causes: (1) ±99999.999 or ±9999.9999 for the metric command unit. (Note 1)
(2) ±9999.9999 or ±999.99999 for the inch command unit. (Note 1)
(3) Standard value 1000 for the F command (Note 2)
(4) PQ values of M600, M610, M620, or M630 (Note 3) or F value of M650 for the machine
with pallet magazine.
REMARK 1: The allowable range varies depending on the set data no. 0063 for linear axis, or set
data no. 0537 for rotary axis.
REMARK 2: The allowable range varies depending on the machine parameter no. 0561.
REMARK 3: Warning 3 when this message is output under control of pallet magazine, or otherwise
alarm 2.
Cause: The axis was moved in the automatic run mode, though the reference point return has not
been completed yet.
Cause: Halfway in the machining block in memory run, MDI interrupt (switching to MDI run) was
made and a machining block was specified.
Remedy: Don’t make machining interrupt while machining. Switch from MDI run to memory run
and press the [START] key to continue or press the [RESET] key to restart.
REMARK In case modal change was made by command in MDI, such portion may be valid. Check
again, therefore, when continuing in memory operation.
Cause: The axis with servo OFF is in the current valid axis.
Cause: U- and V-axes movement command is in the G51 and G52 taper mode.
However, in case the following G codes are in the same block, the U- and V-axes com-
mands become that G code command, causing no alarm.
G04, G10, G22, G28, G29, G30, G53
Cause: U- and V-axes movement command is in the G02 and G03 circle mode.
Cause: An axis other than X and Y axes was specified for the rotation center position of
G68X_Y_A_;.
Cause: An axis other than X and Y axes was specified for the rotation center position of
G26X_Y_A_;, on a copy angle A_ was not input.
Cause: The G24 command block is not adjacent to both before and after blocks (straight line and
circle).
Remedy: Correct the program or increase the setting of set data no. 0083 (from 17 to about 50).
Causes: (1) Compensated figures of blocks before and after G24 command block were without in-
tersection. (See “Fig. 3-6: ” Figure 1.)
(2) When block either before or after G24 command block is an arc, compensation by G24
resulted in 0 radius of block before and after (every in rare case). (See “Fig. 3-6: ” Figure 2.)

Fig. 3-7:
Causes: (1) The height of program plane or subprogram plane is set higher than actual upper
guide height.
Note: Warning 2, WARN RESET key
(2) The height of program plane or subprogram plane is set lower than actual lower guide
height.
Note: Warning 2, WARN RESET key
(3) The upper guide height is too small, compared with the sub plane height.
Note: Alarm 2, RESET key
In general taper machining, the above case is very rare and there is high possibility of mis-
entry. Therefore, warning is output to alert the operator.
Cause: The taper command (G51, G52) is not in the same block as the G41 or G42 command.
The taper cancel command (G50) is not in the same block as the G40 command.
Cause: G20 command for the metric command system was specified.
G21 command for the inch command system was specified.
Cause: A value other than A0 to A9 was commanded in the block of G92 A_; block.
Cause: Movement for more than 3 axes including C and Z axes was specified simultaneously.
Description: In the Z axis manual machine, this message is displayed along with STOP status lamp ON
when the G95 (Z axis position control) is turned on.
Remedy: Move the Z axis to the specified height and restart operation.
Cause: The corner override (G46) was specified in the radius compensation cancel (G40) block.
Cause: G46 was specified in the G44 block, or G44 was specified in the G46 block.
REMARK Normally, the G44 is used for 1st cut and G46 for 2nd and subsequent cuts.
If they are specified in the same block, G44 has priority.
Cause: Midway in taking measurement in memory run, MD1 interrupt was made to perform
measurement.
Remedy: Reset
Cause: In the vertical irregular shape mode (G41/G42P_), the command other than P0, P1 and P2
is specified.
Description: (1) Taper command (G51/G52) is specified in the vertical irregular shape mode (G41/
G42P_).
(2) Circular interpolation (G02/G03) is specified in the vertical irregular shape mode
(G41/G42P_).
(3) The mirror image, scalling or axis exchange is specified in the vertical irregular shape
mode.
Cause: Both cancel N number and reset processing N number are registered when ICON macro
execution request is made during execution of ICON macro. System error.
Cause: [MANUAL] key on FPB operation panel or [MAN RUN] key on the screen was pressed dur-
ing execution of return operation by [RETRACT] key in the manual interruption mode for
wire break recovery or one touch M6 operation.
Remedy: Cancel the return operation to restore the operation mode because manual interruption
is invalid during return operation using the [RETRACT] key.
Cause: The [RETRACT] key was pressed without performing manual interruption in the operation
mode (MEN RUN or MDI RUN mode) other than MAN RUN mode (except one touch keys).
Or, [RETRACT] key was pressed without performing retraction in the manual interruption
mode.
Remedy: Because the retract and return function is invalid in the mode other than manual interrup-
tion, switch the mode to manual interruption mode (e.g. [MAN RUN] key ON in MEM RUN
mode), and press [RETRACT] key after performing retraction.
Cause: When operating in a mode (MDI, memory) other than the manual mode, manual opera-
tion interrupt was attempted to manually return to the zero point.
Remedy: Manual return to the zero point is not possible during the automatic operation.
Cancel the zero point return mode before changing the operation mode, and then turn
power on again.
Description: No retract operation can be done during recovery from wire breakage.
Cause: Input resolution setting G code (G590, G591, G592) must be specified at the head of a
block, but actually it is specified in the middle of block.
Description: In the standard resolution mode (set data no. 0063), a value with decimal point that ex-
ceeds the standard resolution is entered, and therefore it is rounded off to standard reso-
lution.
Example:
Metric system 1.2345 1.235
Inch system 1.23456 1.2346
Cause: A value larger than the upper limit (14744.7) was specified for the G94 dwell command.
Cause: Wire breakage occurred during machining and the automatic wire breakage recovery
function was actuated.
Remedy: When the wire breakage point is reached, the message automatically disappears.
Cause: During automatic wire break recovery of RECOVERY WIRE BREAK 1, AUTOMATIC WIRE
LOADING RETRY 1 or 2 on the NC FUNC screen, the following state occurred.
This message appears when moving in DRY RUN to next machining start point.
Remedy: When the next machining start point is reached, the message automatically disappears.
Causes: The number of wire break times in the current machining process reached the number set
to the set data no. 100.
In case the recovery wire break 1 or 2 on the NC FUNC screen has been set, the following
operations are made.
Cause: Power failure occurred and the automatic power failure recovery function was actuated
during MEMORY RUN operation.
The system waits for the power failure recovery function to operate for the duration of the
set time, if the machine parameter no. 575 has been set.
Remedy: Upon returning to the position where power failure occurred, the message automatically
disappears.
Causes: Power failure occurred in auto mode under one of the following conditions so that the au-
tomatic power failure recovery cannot be made.
(1) During MDI RUN operation.
(2) At stop.
(3) Automatic wire loading skip of NC function is valid.
(4) Without automatic wire loading unit.
REMARK When all of the following conditions are met, the automatic power failure recovery is made.
(1) At machining by memory operation (started with M17).
(2) Dry run and machine lock of NC function is invalid.
(3) Automatic wire loading skip of NC function is invalid and power failure recovery is valid.
(4) With automatic wire loading unit.

Fig. 3-14:
Pay special attension to the fluid pressure in case wire break in the center of workpiece
Method 1. Manually load wire at the point where wire was broken.
(Set the recovery wire breakage to 0).
Method 2. After pressing the [RESET] key, return the head to the machining start point and connect
the wire. Turn on the DRY RUN and make the head approach the wire break point (nor-
mally, 2 to 3 mm before that point) with the wire connected, the stop operation.
Turn off the DRY RUN on the NC FUNCTION screen, press the [START] key with the TOUCH
on the MACH OPERATE screen turned on, and turn off the TOUCH when the head reaches
the wire break point. (Wire break recovery count should be 0.)
Method 3. Use the recovery wire breakage (recovery wire breakage 1 or 2) (only when equipped with
automatic wire loading unit).
The above methods have their own advantage and disadvantage. Determine the method to be used in ad-
vance considering the machining accuracy, ease of wire breakage recovery and other factors.
Table 3-2: Machining continuation methods after wire breakage and their features
Description: Power failed during machining with the powe failure recovery function (optional) turned
on, and the power failure recovery operation is executed.
Cause: M6 command was specified in the taper mode or vertical irregular shape mode.
Remedy: Specify M6 command in other than taper mode or vertical irregular shape mode.
Description: An attempt to start the machining was made, skipping the return operation after the axis
retraction.
Cause: The macro command codes of which commanding order is limited were not specified in
the correct order.
Example:
The PRED command was specified before the PROP command in the external data com-
mand.
Remedy: Check the input command value. Specify the correct O No.
Cause: O no. started in memory operation or called by the subprogram is not registered.
The subprogram O no. called from the subprogram is also checked.
Remedy: Find the unregistered O no. and register it. Correct the program.
Remedy: (1) Press the [LIST] key to close the program being displayed on the EDIT, BLOCK screen.
Start under the condition other than registering, deleting on the EDIT, LIST screen or tape
inputting/outputting.
(2) Correct O no. error.
Causes: O no. by subprogram call or subprogram called from subprogram is in the following state.
(1) Being displayed on the EDIT BLOCK screen or being registered or deleted on the EDIT,
LIST screen or being tape input/output.
(2) There is an illegal block or grammar in O number.
Remedy: (1) Press the [LIST] key to close the program being displayed on the EDIT, BLOCK screen.
Start under the condition other than registering, deleting on the EDIT, LIST screen or tape
inputting/outputting.
(2) Correct O no. error.
Causes: Block sequence no. is not found due to the following causes.
(1) Error of N no. started in memory operation.
(2) Specification error of subprogram call M98 O_P_ or retract M99 P_.
(3) Error of destination N no. of macro command GOTO statement.

Cause: The retract command (M99, M99P_) is not found in the subprogram.
Cause: The tape input/output drive failed during program input/output on the EDIT screen.
Remedy: Recheck the program input/output condition (set data no. 20 to 26), tape I/O drive, and
the cable.
Cause: A block containing more than 126 characters is detected during tape input on the EDIT
screen.
Cause: In calculation equation of macro instruction, the function argument value or system vari-
able substitution value or NC code replacement value was outside of allowable range.
Cause: In macro instruction calculation equation, an extremely large absolute value occurred.
Cause: In macro instruction calculation equation, an extremely small absolute value occurred.
Cause: In macro level 4 state, modal call by G65, G66 or G, M code with nest level limit was com-
manded.

Remedy: Check the G10 command format, and correct the program.
Cause: On the COND, MODEL SEARCH screen, an attempt to transfer the searched rough ma-
chining conditions as modal data was made though the machine is not in RESET status.
Remedy: Place the machine in RESET status, and then transfer the data as modal data.
Cause: The parameter value related to the feed rate is illegal and thus the feed rate cannot be cal-
culated.
Causes: The following errors were caused when specifying X- and Y-axes in the automatic meas-
uring by G76 to G85.
(1) G76, 77, 80: X- and Y-axes were specified. (Only one of them needs be specified.)
(2) G76–G85: No axis was specified.
(3) G83: G83 L specification or I, J specification error
(4) G79, G80, G82, G84, G85: It is necessary to specify X- and Y-axes.
(5) G83 was specified when either mirror image, axis exchange, scalling or rotation is acti-
vated (G92 miss setting prevention).
Cause: The angle A numerical values of G79, G84 and G85 are other than 0 to 9.
Cause: When approach movement was made in the automatic measuring, the workpiece was not
touched.
Remedy: Check the specified value, the measuring start position and the workpiece position.
Clean the wire surface and the workpiece touch surface.
Cause: At dry run, at machine lock or at graphic, skip was made due to presence of G76 to G85
(automatic measuring) command.
Remedy: Execute G76 to G85, during condition other than at dry run, at machine lock or at graphic.
Cause: This message is displayed at the time of measurement start in the automatic measuring
and machining mode.
Cause: If the measurement result shows that the stock removal to the finish reference dimension
exceeds the set data no. 205 value, the system determines that the stock removal is too
large and stops operation.
Skip or remeasurement is determined depending on the setting of set data no. 200 bit 1.
Cause: This message is displayed when measurement was skipped by the setting of set data
No. 200 bit 1.
Cause: This message is displayed when a proper stock removal was left by the setting of set data
no. 200 bit 2, and a machining is executed.
Cause: If the measurement result shows that the stock removal to the finish reference dimension
is smaller than set data no. 206 value, the system determines that the stock removal is too
small for additional machining and ends automatic measuring and machining operation.
This case is a normal finish condition, so it is not a stop status.
Cause: If difference between maximum and minimum of measured values obtained in the edge
face measurements of 5 times per side is larger than set data no. 203 value, the system
determines that measurement reliability is low and displays this message.
REMARK Operation does not go in stop status when the set data no. 200 bit 2 is set to “1”.
Bit 2
0: Machining is executed if measured values do not disperse and there is proper stock re-
moval remained. (Warning 3)
1: Only measurement is done, but not machining. (Warning 2)
Cause: The system goes in stop status with this message displayed at the time of automatic wire
threading for the part (non-machined part) targeted by “M6 search” of additional machin-
ing function.
REMARK When operation is restarted, automatic wire threading and machining for that hole are
executed. To skip also that part, press the [M.COND.SKIP] key, then the [START] key, so that
automatic wire threading and machining for that hole are skipped.
Cause: The part that was not targeted by “M6 search” (i.e., already machined part) at the time of
“SKIPPED MACHING” OFF is automatically targeted by the “M6 searched by M74, A.W.T.
missed (1), (2)” (i.e., skipped from machining) at the time of “SKIPPED MACHING” ON.
Remedy: Correct the program tape or make invalid the TV check of the set data no. 0025 bit 0.
Cause: The tape input/output operation was canceled by the [RESET] key, but cancel operation
was not completed within the fixed time (0.5 s).
Causes: The power supply was turned OFF under the following conditions.
(1) The program was closed by pushing [LIST] key in the Editing Block screen.
(2) Indexing was operating in the Editing List screen.
(3) The tape was being input in the Editing List screen.
(4) During deleting in the Editing List screen.
Remedy: Since the system macro (from O10000 on) is normally maintained as ROM, it is not re-
quired to register it again. When the machine is provided with a specific macro in paper
tape on floppy disk, however, re-register it.
Cause: The power was turned off during the program editing on the EDIT BLOCK screen.
Remedy: Reedit the O no. program which was being edited on the EDIT, LIST screen and press the
[LIST] key to close the program.
Cause: The automatic wire loading (M6, M7) was specified although the automatic wire loading
skip on the NC FUNC screen was valid or there is no automatic wire loading unit.
Remedy: Reset the automatic skip on the NC FUNC screen and press the [START] key. Alternatively,
manually make wire cutoff and loading and then press the [START] key.
Cause: In rewinding the wire during automatic wire threading, the wire tip cannot be detected
within the wire reverse feed limit time (machine parameter no. 686). (*WT_SEN=1)
Remedy: If a wire is not rewound completely or it is caught by workpiece, remove the wire and
press the [START] key.
If a wire is not left, clean and adjust the sensor, then press the [START] key.

firmed. (WDN=0)
Remedy: Check the cutter operation (CUTTER=1) or the wire feed system. Remove the cause of cut-
off failure, and press the [START] key.
Cause: In the automatic wire threading (NC AWT retry 1–3), the wire touch cannot be reset
(*TOUCH_B=0) though the wire is rewound up to the wire tip sensor (*WT_SEN=0).
Remedy: Check the wire feed system. Remove the cause of touch and then press the [START] key.
Cause: In the automatic wire threading (NC AWT retry 0, 1, 3), the AWT does not complete within
the wire feed limit time (machine parameter no. 693) or the wire feed length reached the
value (MGW-H, machine parameter no. 591).
Remedy: Remove the cause of failure and cut off excess wire. Then press the [START] key.
Cause: The head moves to the next M6 point by M6 search function due to post-processing set
by set data no. 101 after AWT failure within the specified retry count or time.
Cause: When the NC function automatic wire loading retry 2 was set, there was no wire detected
on the wire path sensor at stasrt of automatic wire threading. (*WL_SEN=0)
Remedy: Set wire at the front of the wire path sensor and press the [START] key.
Cause: The head moves to the next M6 point by the M6 search function due to the post-process-
ing (set data no. 101) after fine hole AWT was not completed within the specified time
(machine parameter no. 695).
Cause: Upon completion of automatic wire threading, the wire was not detected at the wire tip
edge sensor. (*WT_SEN=0)
Remedy: Press the [RESET] key to restart because the AWT was completed in erroneous path, or
thread the wire manually and press the [START] key.
Cause: U- and V-axes are not at the vertical position at automatic wire loading (M6).
Remedy: Return them to the vertical position manually or by MDI operation and press the [START]
key. Even without returning to the vertical position, operation can be resumed by press
the [START] key.
Cause: In registering the parameters by machine type (O13900), selection of machine type (set-
ting of system parameter no. 930 bits 0–7) is improper.
Remedy: Press the [RESET] key, then confirm the model by pressing the [HELP] key for the system
parameter no. 930/no. 940 (type of amplifier: MGW-K ~), and press the [START] key with
correct values.
Cause: The process number targeted by “M6 search” inthe process skip function (M74L_) is
skipped from all subsequent operations (e.g., a part targeted by M6 search in a rough ma-
chining is prevented from a finish machining).
Remedy: Perform machining of the skipped part later (see [SKIPPED MACHING] key, M74).
Cause: The head moves to the reference position specified by M75M_Y_ and makes a new wire
leading edge via loading cut, then again returns to the original point for automatic wire
loading retry.
This message is displayed during above operation.
Cause: This message is displayed when the number of retry times exceeds the machine parame-
ter no. 717 setting (reference hole retry times limit, standard 3 times).
Cause: An error occurred in the operating process of the system program “Machine sequence
macro”.
Cause: After the wire threading succeeded, the touch sensing function checks if the wire touches
the workpiece. If it touches (*TOUCH_B=0), the wire is cut off, then threaded again.
This message is displayed during above operation.
Remedy: To disable the touch sensing function, set the set data no. 45 bit 3 to “0”.
Cause: This message is displayed when the number of retry times exceeds the machine parame-
ter no. 716 setting (touch retry times limit, standard 3 times).
Cause: The [TANK FILL] key (option: M. CONTROL screen or COND SUB screen) was pressed while
the work tank door was open. (*DR_OPN=0)
Remedy: Close the work tank door and operate the key.
Description: M17 (machining ON) is specified in the taper mode 2 on the NC FUNC screen.
The taper mode 2 is for checking graphic at arbitrary height of taper program, and it is
seldom used for machining, and therefore this warning message is displayed to alert the
operator, but operation is not stopped.
Cause: The fluid level command M28Q_ is out of the allowable range for M28 (TANK FILL).
Description: On the UPH-1/UPH-2/UH-2, the cutter unit is not in vertical (UPH-1) or reverse position
(UPH-2/UH-2) when the work tank starts to rise.
Remedy: Press the [RESET] key, then execute [M6 I/O RETURN] to set the cutter unit in vertical or reverse position.
Cause: On the machines with the wire length measuring function, automatic wire threading does
not finish though the wire feed length exceeds the parameter no. 591 set value.
Remedy: Remove a cause, then cut off excessive wire and press [START] key for restart.
Cause: The water conductivity is out of the set value though ion exchange has been turned on
(MION=1) for more than 24 hours.
The warning message will be displayed every 4 hours since then.
Cause: The [PUMPS OFF] key on the MACH OPE screen is turned on.
Remedy: After making sure the safety around the dielectric fluid supply unit, turn off the [PUMPS
OFF] key.
Cause : On the machine except UPH-1, the specified time has elapsed (Note) where the fluid level
in a dirty tank of dielectric fluid supply unit is below the lower float (*FLOAT2=0).
Description: On the machine with automatic water feeder (option), automatic water feed failed due to
faulty upper float in a dirty tank of dielectric fluid supply unit.
Causes: (1) The float signal is faulty, if the lower float in dirty tank dropped (*FLOAT2=0), then after
the specified time (Note), the upper float rises (*FLOAT1=0).
(2) Both upper and lower floats dropped and automatic water feed valve turned on
(SVP1=1), but the upper float or lower float is left down though 10 minutes elapsed.
REMARK On the MGW-K power supply unit, the warning 2034 in (2) will not occur in the 12.2 or lat-
er versions. The water supply completes in the time set to the machine parameter No. 728
(standard 10 minutes).
REMARK (1) If piping has not been connected on the machine with automatic water feeder, turn off
the system parameter no. 0934 bit 0, and turn off and on the power switch to feed the wa-
ter in manual mode.
