SYSTEM CONNECTORS The V-MAC III system utilizes many different connector styles and sizes. The Vehicle lectronic Control Unit (VECU), Engine Zlectronic Control Unit (EECU), and the Serial Sommunications Port connectors are the largest onnectors in the system, and are where the najority of the V-MAC Ill system testing is serformed. This section illustrates the VECU, ECU, and Serial Communications Port ‘onnectors and includes charts with connector ‘rminal identification and functions, The charts should not be used as a replacement for the ietailed tests that appear in this manual. The tharts are intended as an identification reference or use when repairing a connector or terminal 3-Pin Serial Communication Port The Serial Communications Port is a six (6) pin sonnector used for system diagnostics and eprogramming. Itis located under the dashboard ‘0 the left of the steering column, This port is used or connecting the Pro-Link 9000 or the Jiagnostic computer. See the illustration for the 3in locations. A listing of the signal on each pin follows the illustration.
