Basic First Aid CPR AED
To provide the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage a medical
emergency in an effective and efficient manner. The participant will learn how to assess an ill or
injured patient, activate EMS, and provide initial treatment while waiting for the advance
personnel’s arrival. The participant will also learn the performance of high-quality CPR to
cardiac arrest victims.

Participant Profile
Individuals who are occupationally required to be trained and certified in CPR AED and Basic
First Aid. This can also be taken by anyone who wants to keep their family safe by learning the
essential skills in First Aid CPR AED. ASHI Basic First Aid is not designed to meet pediatric first
aid training regulatory requirements and should not be used for that purpose.

10 students per one instructor

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to learn the knowledge and skills of:

 Protecting self when helping others

 Calling for help
 Assessing a responsive and unresponsive person using the primary survey
 Performing high quality CPR for each age group (Adult, Child, Infant)
 Performing high quality rescue breaths using a CPR mask or shield for each age group
 Using an AED or automated external defibrillator
 Relieving a person from choking
 Appling first aid to a person with sudden injury
 Appling first aid to a person with sudden illness
 Appling first aid to a person suffering from environmental emergencies

Accreditation
 Aspen Medical UAE is licensed by Department of Health for the provision of Medical
Professional Development and Continuous Medical Education.

On successful completion of skills evaluation, the participants will be provided with: American
Safety & Health Institute® (ASHI) Basic First Aid CPR AED provider card valid for 2 years
