INDICATION: Appendicitis

PROCEDURE:
Spinal anaesthesia was given after routine skin prepping and draping.
Lanz incision made after McBurney’s point was identified. Incision was deepened down the
subcutaneous fat.
Fascia was separated, external oblique muscle bluntly dissected. Peritonuem was entered.
Appendix was identified, mesoappendix containing the appendiceal artery was then ligated and
separated from the appendix.
The appendix was removed with the stump buried with purse-string.
Layer wise closure was done.
Skin repaired with Subcuticular stitches with Vicrl2/0.
Procedure was well tolerated.
