INTRODUCTION This chapter provides detailed insight on the Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Act, 1994 (Act514) and its Regulations. Other related Acts and Regulations will also be described so to provide further exposure on the requirements for safe and health workplace and conditions for all industries. There are five main types of laws, namely: 1. Article 2. Statutory laws 3. Common or civil laws 4, Traditional or customary laws 5. Islamic (Syari’ah) laws.
