Dear Sir,

Good day to you!

In addition to the update given to you during your visit on 1.10.2022, we have the following
observations regarding this pump and its implications for the ship.
1. Its shaft driving key is bent and the key way on the shaft is twisted (see photo).
2. The material stuck on the shaft is from fusion of materials under heat (see photo). It is not
coming off with buffing. It will need grinder or filing. Though we intend to remove it carefully, it
may not still be as good as it should be for shrunk fit bearings.
3. Shaft bending is not an issue as checked with dial gauge. The deflection is in tolerable limit.
4. The shaft height adjusting lock nut is still not free on the threads. We are trying to make it free.
5. We need to revise the requisition by adding a key to the requisition sent earlier. Bush item 85
was also missed out earlier. Both have been added in the requisition attached.
6. Bearing housing area spare parts like roller bearing etc are not there. In present condition is it
safe to use the tank for loading. It needs to be verified from the makers / technicians. In my
opinion if we replace the seals in oil seal area and box up with just the bearing housing minus
the parts inside it should give us a chance to load the tank. But verifying with people dealing
with this type of job is better for safety.

PFA revised requisition.
