ROOF
"All SYMAGA Bins feature roofs with a 30 degree slope, which provides an optimum strength while maintaining low peak heights for overhead
conveyors, elevator legs and related equipment. The 30 degrees roof slope also closely matches natural grain slope to help to reduce bin overfill
and possible resulting roof damage.
SYMAGA's roof ribs are taller, full lapped - double and triple - rib formed. This roof combination, along with the corrugation of the panels, provides
added strength on commercial bin roofs. Optionally we can provide a vented roof panel, which is pre-punched in order to allow roof vents to be
placed in a proper and sure way.
Steel quality is: S 280 GD according the norm UNE-EN-10346: 2015
Lower yield point: 280 N/mm2
Tensile strength: 360 N/mm2

Thickness: 0, 8 mm
Roofs of Bins 12,98 meters diameter and larger diameters have a structural roof. This roof is provided with a strong structure, design to support
overhead equipment, spouting, catwalks, etc. without any modification to the bin roof. This structure is formed by beams and purling in Sendzimir
galvanized steel. For the very strong loads, the beams can be supplied with extra reinforcements, hot deep galvanized, with a short increase in the
price.
For vertical joint of the sheets, SYMAGA utilizes automatic punching system, to assure a perfect connection between them. For manufacturing the
STIFFENERS
The stiffeners are the profiles that are arranged around the circumference marked by the bin whose function is to transfer the
vertical loads produced by the grain to the foundation, providing a resistant but at the same time elastic structure. The position
of the stiffeners on the outside, avoids the contamination of the grain that occurs when the stiffeners are on the inside. The
quality of the steel used for the stiffeners, together with the resistance
of the joint joints, ensure great stability of the bin.
The section of our galvanized stiffeners is in the form of an “omega” 75 mm wide and with a useful length of 1,140 or 2,280
mm
Steel quality: S350GD or HX500LAD according to UNE-EN-10346: 2015
Lower yield point: S350GD 350 N/mm2 HX500LAD 500 N/mm2

Galvanization: Z600, 42 µm, 600 gr/m² according the norm UNE-EN-10346:2015.
Thickness: From 1, 5 mm to 4 mm per piece.
HOPPER BINS
The legs of the small hopper Bins are extensions of the cylinder stiffeners, made with galvanized steel (Sendzimir process) and section omega of
150 mm width. The legs are braced with “L” or “U” profiles to give the structure a better resistance to wind and other external factors.

"In order to support the high loads of big hopper Bins, a compression ring is placed in the join of the body and the hopper, made of hot dip
galvanized “UPN” profile.
The ring is supported by hot dip galvanized legs, made equally with a “HEB” profile, tight with “L” or “U” bracings."
Steel quality is: S 275 JR according norm UNE-EN-10027-1

The bolting is coated by a hot dip galvanization process following the norm EN-ISO 10684: 2006."
CATWALKS
SYMAGA standard catwalks consist of two different sections, each one of 700 mm width, including a double handrail of 1,1 m height. One section
is used as a walkway and the other is designed to install the conveyor. The catwalk is designed following the norm ISO-EN 14122.
The structure of the catwalk is made with profiled beams made of galvanized steel 3 mm thickness, being “U” of 263 mm width.
The standard floor of the walkway is made of galvanized steel perforated sheets of 3 mm thickness. Special grid floor on customers demand.

SUPPORTS
Based on the loads over the Bins, the supports can be single, double or columns, made all them with galvanized steel. For heavy loads, additional
overhangs are included in the supports to obtain a better distribution of the weight.
All the supports are join to the stiffeners, in order to transmit the loads through them directly to the ground.

READ CAREFULLY
Rust damage due to improper storage is not covered by the SYMAGA warranty.
Properly store grain bin materials prior to construction to prevent wet storage stain:
Wet storage stain (rust) will develop when closely packed bundles of galvanized material such as sidewall, roof and hopper sheets and hopper bin legs have
moisture present from any source. Roof and sidewall bundles should be inspected on arrival for the presence of moisture. If moisture is present, moisture must
not be permitted to remain between the sheets. In the case of moisture presence, sheets or panels should be separated immediately, wiped down, dried and
sprayed with a light oil or diesel fuel.
Where possible, sidewall bundles, roof sheets and other closely packed materials (e.g. hopper sheets and hopper bin legs) should be stored in a dry, climate
controlled building. Storage inside a dry building should be done if at all possible. Where outdoor storage is unavoidable, the materials should be raised out of
contact from the ground or vegetation. Stacking and spacing materials should not be corrosive or wet. Materials must be protected from the weather. Weather
protection that permits more air movement around the bundles is best.
The storage method of the roof bundles and sidewall sheets may also help minimize moisture presence. Roof bundles should be
stored inclined. The bundles should be stored and secured in a safe & stable manner. Turning the bundles over and storing with
the centre of the dome “up” like an arch is an option. Sidewall bundles may be stored on edge, however these bundles should be
secured in such as way as they cannot fall over and cause injury.
Should “white rust” or “wet storage stain” occur, contact the manufacturer immediately concerning methods to minimize the
adverse effect upon the galvanized coating.
Plastiline / sealant for bin joints has to be stored under dry conditions BETWEEN+ 5º AND +20 ºC.
