Pengguna teknologi informasi mobile merupakan saluran yang


potensial untuk mempromosikan kesehatan dengan lebih personal khususnya
kelompok usia muda. Pesan motivasi dan metode perubahan perilaku yang
biasa digunakan dalam konseling tatap muka dapat pula dimodifikasi dan
dimanfaatkan melalui pesan telepon seluler/hand phone (HP) kepada
sasaran. Pesan teks HP sudah dimanfaatkan sebagai media promosi kesehatan
seperti memonitor perkembangan klinis pasien HIV/AIDS, hipertensi,
diabetes, asma(Cole-Lewis & Kershaw, 2010)1 sebagai pengingat perilaku
sehat seperti menjaga berat badan dan minum vitamin.(Cocosila et al., 2009)
(Gerber et al., 2009)2;3 Pesan teks HP juga terbukti secara ilmiah pada kasus
penanggulangan roko.(Fjeldsoe et al., 2009; Free et al., 2011; Haug et al.,
2009)4;5;6
