 The current PhilHealth coverage and benefits on community health service

Philhealth insurance is a government corporation affiliated with the Department of Health
(DOH). It regulates a National health insurance program which it provides a health insurance coverage as
well as I provide an affordable health services to all the Filipinos.

A PhilHealth insurance reduces our expenses during confinement or health care services. Every
Filipino is covered by PhilHealth. The head of family can avail a PhilHealth membership and have a
qualified dependents. It entitles the card as a member and its dependents for inpatient and outpatient
services in PhilHealth accredited services. For example is the inpatient, when a patient admitted to a
hospital, the PhilHealth provided a room and board, drugs and medicines, laboratories, operating room
and professional fees for confinements of not less than 24 hrs. And also for the outpatients which is
available at PhilHealth accredited by RHU’s or some PhilHealth accredited government hospitals. The Z
benefits which are a treatment for leukemia, breast cancer, prostate cancer and coronary artery can use
their PhilHealth membership. The benefits can use by the member and the dependents as long as the
membership is updated contributors, and a hospital that is accredited by PhilHealth. Due to this
pandemic the coverage and benefits of PhilHealth is expected to continue health coverage for
coronavirus patients despite of the trouble corruption happened.
