DAY 2

GLORY TO GOD! YOU

Already HAVE HOPE.

Athave
this very moment, if you’ve been born again, you
residing within you three of the most powerful
forces in the universe. They have the power to change
any circumstance and can completely revolutionize
your life.
What are these forces? They’re faith, hope and love.
God is Love (1 John 4:8). He is the Great Creator of
the universe and all that’s in it. He has faith, but He is
Love. When you received Jesus as Savior and LORD,
you were reborn in His image. He gave you His faith
(Romans 12:3). And that faith works by love (Galatians
5:6). So, no love, no faith. And since faith is the substance
of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1), you can see how
they’re inseparable.
It all starts with believing the love God has for you.
First John 4:16 says, “And we have known and believed
the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that
dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” He
loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)—His
covenant hesed-agape—His intense lovingkindness and
goodness. It’s beyond all you could ever ask or think,
and it goes beyond human understanding. You have to
receive it by faith. God is Love, and He loves you!
You don’t have to earn God’s love. He already loves
you and has given you “all things that pertain unto
life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that
hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3) How
do you get that knowledge of Him? God has given you
His eternal WORD—the very power that created the
universe. When you believe and meditate on it, or think
about it, and grow in the knowledge of the One who
wrote it, His WORD will create images of success and
victory inside you that we call hope. Once those images
are formed, and you believe you receive them, faith goes
to work to bring them from the spiritual realm into the
natural realm.
You can see why hope is a key force in changing
anything in your life. Real hope is built on God’s
unchanging WORD—a bedrock for your faith that cannot
be shaken. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away,
but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
So getting your hope up, then, is a key component
to putting faith and love to work in your life. To put it
simply: If you will get your hope up, everything else will
change. Why? Because in the process of putting God’s
WORD before your eyes and in your heart, meditating
on His promises to you and allowing them to build
the hope that will reframe your world (Hebrews 11:3),
you’ll be totally transformed (Romans 12:2). When
you’re transformed by the renewing of your mind,
your whole life and everything around you will change.
Guaranteed!
It may sound too good to be true, but it really doesn’t
matter what circumstances you may be facing right

now—whether they’re serious or seemingly minor. Those
circumstances will change when you decide to believe
the love God has for you, believe His promises and build
your hopes high.
“But, Brother Copeland, you just don’t know what
I’m going through....”
No, I don’t. But God does, and if you’re born again,
the Holy Spirit of God Himself has come to live inside
you (John 14:17). He brought with Him the life forces
necessary for you to walk in victory above every
circumstance.
Before you were born again, Ephesians 2:12 says
that you were “without Christ...strangers from the
covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God
in the world.” Without Jesus, you actually had no Bible
hope, because you were without God—without Christ—
which means you were without the Anointed One and
His Anointing. That’s what the word Christ means. The
anointing is the burden-removing, yoke-destroying
power of God. It’s the supernatural ability of God on
your natural ability, causing you to be able to do things
you couldn’t ordinarily do.
So without that kind of power at work in you,
through the Holy Spirit and The WORD of God, you
can’t have real Bible hope. But when you make Him
your Savior and LORD, and the Anointed One comes
to live in you, His living hope takes up residence in you.
First Peter 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of
our LORD Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant
mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (New
King James Version).
The very day you made Jesus The LORD of your
life, God’s powerful hope came alive in you. It’s in there

now, whether you feel like it or not. The supernatural,
creative force of Almighty God Himself lives in you!
Most believers are shocked at this idea because
they don’t fully understand what happened to them
in the new birth.
They don’t realize
they actually became “When... the Anointed
a new creation in One comes to live in you,
Christ Jesus—a new
species of being that His living hope takes up
never existed before residence in you.”
(2 Corinthians 5:17,
Amplified Bible, Classic
Edition). John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received
him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name: Which were
born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.”
Stop and think about that. You are born of God! The
moment you received Jesus Christ as your LORD, your
inner man was reborn in His very image. God literally
became the Father of your reborn human spirit. Just
as your body took on the same genes and traits of your
natural mother and father when you were created
physically, your spirit took on the spiritual “genes,” so
to speak, or the DNA, of your heavenly Father when you
were re-created spiritually. And, you received God’s
own nature when He came to live inside you.
Your spirit took on His hope, His faith, His love—
and all the other spiritual forces resident in Him—
called eternal life. The Greek word for it is zoe. It means
“life in the absolute sense, life as God has it.” It’s the
part of God that makes Him God. And He invested that
same zoe life into your spirit when you made Jesus
your LORD.

Get Your Hopes Up!

If you’ve never made Jesus The LORD of your life,
don’t wait a moment longer. Do it right now. Say, “Jesus,
I receive You, and I make You LORD of my life. Come
into my heart now. According to Romans 10:9-10, I
believe You died for me and that You rose again for me.
I confess You as my Savior and LORD.” When you do
that, the Spirit of God supernaturally causes your spirit
to be reborn.
Jesus has now come to take up residency in you,
so you are in Him (John 14:17; Colossians 1:27). As we
learned, you’ve become a new creation. And if you’re
a new creation, then those three living and powerful
spiritual forces we talked about are not something you
have to ask God for, they’ve been born into you. They
are there to stay.
Let’s take a closer look at the force of hope.
Why hope? Because it’s is one of the three eternal
and living forces that run the entire kingdom of God.
And without it, faith has nowhere to go—no goal for the
substance of faith to
enter into—to bring
“Hope is one of the to pass the things you
three eternal and living desire. You can see,
now, why hope has
forces that run the the power to change
entire kingdom of God.” things. Let’s find out
how you can tap into it.

HOPE IS IN YOU!
“And now abide [now lives] faith, hope, love, these
three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians
13:13, New King James Version).
As we learned, these three powerful, eternal forces
of God Himself abide within you. To abide means “to

reside, to make a home somewhere.” For example,
the house where Gloria and I live is where we abide.
It’s our home. We have settled down there and all our
possessions are there. It functions as our base from
which we go out every day.
In the same way, your spirit man inside you is where
faith, hope and love abide. They live together because
they need each other to carry out what they’re assigned
to do in your life.
Most people understand how crucial faith and
love are, but few understand that faith and love can’t
function effectively without hope. So, let’s learn more
about this powerful force of hope, and how it can
become the blueprint for your faith.
Maybe things in your life right now are going
pretty well, for the most part, yet you know you’re still
experiencing hopelessness in certain areas. You may
have no hope of losing a certain amount of weight, for
example, or you may be hopeless concerning a loved
one’s salvation. You may just simply feel you have no
hope of ever getting a better job. Regardless of what
you feel hopeless about, the truth remains: You do have
hope. As we’ve learned, it’s already inside you if you’ve
made Jesus your LORD. So don’t go by what you feel.
Go by what God says, and by faith say with confidence,
“Thank God, I do have hope!”
Hopelessness is not caused by a lack of education,
money or opportunity. It doesn’t come from being born
into the wrong family at the wrong time, being the
wrong color, or born on the wrong side of the tracks.
Hopelessness comes from being without real, Bible
hope and without God in the world. So if you’re a child
of God, you can never be truly hopeless.

Get Your Hopes Up!

Your hope may be small or weak. It may be hiding
deep within you. But it’s there, and if you want it to do
anything for you, you’ll have to feed it.
Just as every living thing God has created has to be
fed—people, birds, dogs, cats, fish, bugs, even the grass—
the same is true for the life forces inside you. One time,
I asked The LORD why, and He said, I created you spirit,
soul and body. I created spiritual food to feed your spirit;
I created intellectual food to feed your soul; and I created
physical food to feed your body. But I’m not going to hand-
feed you. You have to make the choice to feed yourself.
Make the choice to feed these forces inside your
spirit. Give them something to operate on. A good
analogy would be a gas grill Gloria and I bought many
years ago. When I was a kid, because of the way gas
grills were manufactured, you turned on the gas, struck
a match, threw it in there and took your chances. But
this new grill had a little igniter button you pushed, and
it would shoot a spark across the opening where the
gas was coming into the grill. As it ignited, you’d hear a
popping sound.
One day I punched that little button, and “pop!”
up came the fire. I got a kick out of how it worked, so
I turned it off and back on again. It worked so much
better than the one I grew up with, so needless to say, I
had quite a bit of fun with that grill.
The gas in that grill is just like your hope. It’s alive
and ready to work; you just need to spark it. You need to
ignite it.
Let’s take the time to ignite your hope. We’ll define
it, talk about how to feed it, and study some biblical
examples of what it can do—even in the most seemingly
hopeless situations. We’ll also look at faith and love
because, as we’ve found out, these three living forces

inside you are inseparable. You must feed all three and
have them work together to be able to grow and succeed
in your Christian life.
The problems staring you in the face today and
maybe screaming “hopeless!” are real. But the truth—
God’s truth—always supersedes the facts. There’s no
problem that’s any match for the eternal, overcoming
power of God’s WORD and the dynamic force of hope
living inside you.
