Signing on to CitiDirect® for Securities Using the SafeWord® Card

CitiDirect® for Securities users who access the Transaction Manager and/
or Corporate Actions applications will be required to utilize a SafeWord®
Card. The SafeWord Card will generate a dynamic or unique password that
will be required during the CitiDirect for Securities sign-on process.
The SafeWord Card employs two-factor authentication: something
you know—a PIN—along with something you have—the token.
I. Receiving Your New SafeWord® Card Device
• Users should check the card number on the back of the device against the
card number shown on the PIN mailer to ensure that they match.
• The card is ready for use upon receipt. Should there be any issues logging
on to CitiDirect for Securities, please contact your local Help Desk
IV. How to Change Your SafeWord® Card PIN
NOTE You can cancel the following procedure at any time by pressing Ctlr.
1. Using the SafeWord® Card, press ON to activate the device.
2. At the Enter Pin or EP prompt, enter your existing PIN.
3. The Host or EH prompt is displayed; ignore this prompt and
press Pin to indicate you want to change your PIN.
NOTE Ensure you remember the new PIN that you entered in Step 5 below,
as this PIN will be known only to you. If you forget your PIN, Citi cannot reset
it; you must contact Citi to have a new SafeWord Card issued.
4. At the new Pin prompt, type your new PIN on the keypad. You can change
the digits in your PIN but not the length—it must be four digits long. After
you type the last digit, your new PIN will be stored in the device.

II. Signing On to CitiDirect® for Securities Using the SafeWord® Card 5. At the AGAIN prompt, retype your new PIN.

Clr Clear. Clears the display area and user history. To get additional training, contact the Citi Help Desk.
Entr Enter.
Pin Change PIN. Starts the “Change PIN” procedure. Citi Help Desk
Bksp Backspace/Erase. Backspaces and deletes the last character that you typed. From the U.S. and elsewhere: 1-212-820-5118

Bad Pin Alerts you that an incorrect PIN has been entered. Wait From Europe: 44-207-500-8222
until this disappears before re-entering.

Signing on to CitiDirect® for Securities Using the SafeWord® Card – Local
Regulations
For enhanced security purposes and as required in certain jurisdictions by
regulation, clients are required to access their accounts via multi-factor
authentication via Safeword card, plus an additional static password. Please
be sure to bookmark this URL address, https://new.securities.citidirect.com
for future access to CitiDirect® for Securities.
I. Receiving Your New SafeWord® Card Device

III. Signing On to CitiDirect® for Securities Using the Static Password
1. After a successful safeword authentication at https://new.securities.citidirect.com, you will be re-
directed to the static password authentication screen.
NOTE: When visiting this page for the first time, you will be required to choose “Mail My Password”.
This screen will display your e-mail address on file and is where your temporary password will be
sent. If this e-mail address is incorrect, please contact your local Citibank representative. You are
required to type/copy that temporary password into the Password field at
https://new.securities.citidirect.com. This action will prompt you to create a new, static password
you will use for future access to the site. When accessing these accounts, you will be required to
authenticate using both steps; beginning with your User ID and SafeWord Card® pin as the first
step, followed by entering the static password.

II. Signing On to CitiDirect® for Securities Using the SafeWord® Card In the event that you forget your password, please follow the steps as stated above and choose
