ISLAMIC INTERNATIONAL
MEDICAL COLLEGE TRUST

Islamic International Medical College Trust (IIMCT) was established

in 1995. IIMCT is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian welfare
organization registered with the Government of Pakistan. IIMCT
intends to help Muslim Ummah in solving the pressing problem of
deteriorating academic standards, by establishing State of the Art
Institutions in Pakistan, engaging eminent scholars and scientists.
In accordance with the mission statement, strong emphasis is laid
on inculcation of Islamic ethical values amongst the students to
produce good Muslim doctors and social scientists.

Major General Zulfiqar Ali Khan
founded Islamic International
Medical College Trust in 1995 with
a view to establish state of the art
educational institutions with total
commitment to Islamic values and to
produce graduates who should not
only be good doctors, physiologist,
psychologists, dentists, chemists and
good educationists but also very good
Muslims, human beings and good
citizen.
Despite having very meager resources,
he managed to pool the best talent
of the country and succeeded in
forming a team who carried his torch
and worked with utmost devotion and
dedication for accomplishment of his
mission.
His vision for the trust from day
one had not been merely opening
educational institutions but a
movement for integration of Islamic
Values in our various disciplines and in
character building of students.
He always emphasized that the
strength of the IIMCT was not in
physical expansion but in its translation
of Islamic ethical and moral values in
the behavior of its faculty members,
students and administrative staff.
He frequently told his colleagues that
younger generation could not be
influenced with verbal claims. They
could be influenced, guided, inspired
and motivated by role models of
robust character.

I am very happy to note that the trust
has not only contributed to the socio-
eco nomic development of our country
but also extended help and assistance
to the needy people particularly during
various disasters.
The trust was established to setup state
of the art educational institutions to
promote higher education system of
world best standards. In view of the
knowledge explosion, globalization
and rapidly changing scenarios in
the world, IIMCT has established
high quality institutions of higher
education specializing in the sciences,
technology, medicine, management,
information technology and
pharmaceutical sciences.
IIMC Trust conducted an extensive
review of its performance over the
years. The review consisted of input
and feedback as well as brain storming
sessions with various stake holders.
Resultantly, we have identified focused
themes & strategic priorities for next
five years.
In the years 2018-19 we have made
focused efforts resulting in impressive
achievements as highlighted in this
report.

IIMCT has come a long way since its inception in 1995,
towards its mission set by its founder, Late Maj. Gen.
(R) Zulfiqar Ali Khan (Sitara Imtiaz). As a pioneering
education institution with a strong focus on Islamic
ethical values, IIMCT has set new standards for the

and has yielded a long list of land mark achievements.
We have seen alhamdulillah quantum increase in our
admissions and have started 8 new programs. To develop
a University Campus which can provide an environment
of learning for students IIMCT has bought property more
than 100,000m2 in Gulberg Greens Islamabad.

Overview
Performance Report
Islamic International Medical College Trusts’ exponential
growth over the past decade is the culmination
of excellence in academia as well as its extensive
philanthropic endeavors that is being carried out by four
fully functional healthcare service providers i.e. IIMCT
Pakistan Railways Hospital, Rawalpindi, administered
since 1998, Riphah International Hospital, established
2014, Islamic International Dental Hospital, Islamabad,
established since 2001 and Max Health Hospital,
Islamabad, started its operations in 2016. The year 2018-
19 has seen IIMCT engaged in more than 36 free medical
camps countrywide with over 12,700 deserving patients
being treated by our dedicated team of doctors.
The spirit of philanthropy and humanitarianism at IIMCT
has been the hallmark of its achievements in the year
2018-19. By the grace of Almighty Allah, the contribution
of Trust in healthcare provision for the year has benefited
almost 409,347 patients providing access to a wide range
of healthcare services at highly subsidized rates to poor
population. Trust spent PKR 332.2 million as healthcare
subsidy to these hospitals.
With a vision to create a caring and integrated system
of social development services that facilitates human
development and helps to improve the quality of
life, Riphah Social Welfare Department (RSWD) has

organized 36 free medical camps treating almost
12,700 patients. The third phase of Gen. (R) Zulfiqar Ali
Khan Tharparker relief project has been initiated by
virtue of which 12 wells has been constructed so far in
2018. To create awareness regarding healthcare and
disaster preparedness, a number of awareness sessions
has been conducted. IIMCT spent PKR 16.4 million on
medical camps, provision of food, water and livelihood
to underprivileged and poverty striken communities in
Islamabad KPK and Tkarparkar Sindh.
To enhance the healthcare services paraphernalia, new
hospital bed sets have been imported to IIMCT-Pakistan
Railway Hospital to cater for the needs of maximum
patients. Moreover, the establishment of a Rehab
Centre in Riphah International Hospital (RIH) and Max
Clinics in MaxHealth Hospitals has added considerable
value in providing the best service experience through
compassionate care in a patient friendly environment.
Expansion plans for IIMCT have led to considerable
developments over the past few years. Some of the
noticeable developments include the establishment
of Swat Campus for which expedited procedures are
underway to make it fully operational. Another landmark
development concerning the purchase of 211 kanal of
land for the purpose of constructing a new campus of
Riphah International at Gulberg Greens Islamabad along
with the acquisition of 48 kanal of land in the same
location for building a new 600 bed hospital serving the
greater purpose of quality healthcare.
In 2018-19, IIMCT has worked hard to achieve all its
strategic, operational and financial goals. We have over
11,089 enrolled students studying in various disciplines

worth PKR 165.5 million to provide the deserving
students access to world class educational programs.
IIMCT has to continued to attract meritous students by
offering high quality, accredited programs in a wide array
of professional disciplines. In 2018-19 we launched 8 new
degree programs to add to its already well established
list of programs at under graduate and post graduate
degree levels. This has attracted the largest number of
students to choose IIMCT in the journey of knowledge
and learning. More than 5,947 admissions are an indicator
to the confidence of youth in the quality and mission of
IIMCT. Our finest 1,066 pedagogues’ has published 269
research papers out of which 176 were in Impact Factor,
PMDC and HEC recognized journals. Research is the key
to an educational Institute’s success and for that matter,
hefty financial resources of PKR 13.6 million has been
invested this year to optimize the research framework at
the University.
Our global impact ALHAMDOLILLAH this year has been
very extensive. International conferences on Medical
Education (OTTAWA-ICME, Abu Dhabi), Rehab, Pharmacy
& Patient Safety has created ripples around the globe.
From an academic perspective, recent certifications,
accreditations and associations with World Confederation
of Physical Therapy, Washington Accord, American
Veterinary Medical Colleges and Pakistan Centre for
Philanthropy bears testimony to the vision of Late Maj.
Gen. Zulfiqar Ali Khan, the founder of IIMCT.
May Allah Almighty bless us with the strength, guidance
and wisdom to efficiently utilize our human and financial

desired that further expansion of the facility be
done to help the patients. He also showed keen
interest in handing over other projects of Railways
to IIMCT on Public Private Partnership basis.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT
CENTER
Child Development Center was established under
Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences (RCRS) in
2011 as an independent department for learning and
development of children with different abilities.

Child development centre is the only centre in the twin

cities to provide a balanced, structured programme of
learning which will allow every child to progress at his
or her own pace while ensuring equal opportunities
for all. Along with the guidance from foreign qualified
professionals, prominent Pediatricians, Clinicians,
Physical Therapists, Speech Pathologists and
Occupational Therapists are also on CDC panel.

At CDC parents are encouraged to take full part in their

child’s progress by attending formal reviews, regular
parent-teacher meetings and an open invitation to
contact the center at any time to discuss any concerns
regarding their child’s education or any matter
concerning the care and welfare of their child.

Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) is a private

Riphah Institute of
Pharmaceutical Sciences
RIPS was established in 2004 with state of the art labs
fully equipped with modern equipment/facilities and
a model Hospital Pharmacy in our affiliated Railway
Hospital offering 5 year Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Exactly after 5 years in 2009, we were rated as the “best”
amongst both the public and private sector institutions
by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan. We were the first
to implement the International Code of Good Laboratory
Practices. Soon after that RIPS was put on the WHO list
of affiliated institutions.
The 3rd International Conference on recent innovations
in pharmaceutical sciences ICRIPS 2019 organized by
Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences held at Margalla
Hotel, Islamabad with the call to produce cheaper
quality medicines that are affordable to every common
man of the country.

Riphah College of
Rehabilitation Sciences
The Riphah College of Rehabilitation Science (RCRS)
was established in 2007 under the Faculty of Health
and Medical Sciences (FHMS) with the aim to produce
graduates of Physical Therapy and other Rehabilitation
Professionals in Pakistan according to international
standards. RCRS is pioneer of Doctor of Physical therapy
program (DPT) and Post Professional Doctor of Physical
Therapy program (PP-DPT) in Pakistan (Equivalency of 18
years of schooling/M.Phil as per HEC criteria). Our DPT is
the first entry level physical therapy program in Pakistan
accredited by WCPT in the whole south Asia. By virtue of
this Riphah graduates will be benefited in 111 member
countries of WCPT for higher studies and employment
opportunities. The College has highly qualified and the
largest faculty of physical therapy. This is the only institute
which has foreign qualified faculty (UK & USA).
RCRS has Successfully organized three conferences,
1st International Conference Rehabilitation Sciences
held in Lahore March 2014, 1st National conference on
rehabilitation sciences in DHA Islamabad, May 2015 and
2nd International conference on Rehabilitation Sciences
held in Islamabad May 2017.
5 faculty members are enrolled in PhD programs in
different universities, where 2 are from abroad and the
remaining 3 in Pakistan.

Lahore Campus
Established in 2012, Riphah International University’s
Lahore campus is providing quality education to
more than twenty five hundred students in the
field of Physical Therapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences,
Management Sciences, Computing, Applied & Social
Sciences, Scence & Technology, Language & Literature
and Clinical Professional Psychology approved by
the Pharmacy Council. Built our own purpose built
campus in Lahore on 83 kanal land on Raiwind Road

GENERAL HOSPITAL
It is an unique collaboration of private-public sector
partnership in health sector. Under this collaboration,
IIMCT has been given full control of Railways Hospital
for 66 years. IIMC Trust provided faculty, staff and high
tech equipment to transform this hospital into 350
bed teaching hospital. All the major departments
i.e. Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics,
Paediatrics and Anaesthesia are recognized for FCPS
training by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
This hospital is a true general hospital for railway
employees and general public of the area. This provides
rich teaching material for both undergraduate and
postgraduate students. To meet the academic needs
two lecture theatres and thirteen demonstration rooms
were added to the hospital. IIMCT, provides completely
free health services to Railways beneficiary. It is the only
general hospital with department of Physiotherapy and
Rehabilitation, fully equipped and staffed.

Care Provision. Improvement in Hospital Outlook. HIMS
in progress. Addition of Rehab Services Rehab including
Pain Clinic. Islamic Hospital/ UBM implementation in
progress. LED in OPD with Islamic and Health Literature.
The affiliation of PRH with IIMCT has benefited Railway
patients by providing better healthcare delivery, but it
has also resulted in marked financial relief to Railway
in terms of saving of expenditures which would have
cost millions of rupees to Railway for providing such
healthcare services.

The Riphah International Hospital is located on the main
Islamabad Express Road about 1 kilometer from KAK
PUL (Bridge), opposite to DHA phase-II Islamabad. The
concept designed was approved in November 2013,
drawing - Finalized in February 2014 and construction of
the project was awarded to companies IZHAR, SAMRA
constructions who have started the actual construction
of the hospital in March 2014.

Welfare Department
Pakistan is a developing country with poor health
infrastructure and academic isolation in the higher
education sector. Poverty and marginalization are
the outcomes of the vicious capitalistic structures,
hegemonies by the cartels, infiltrating the ruling
mania.
Islamic International medical college trust (IIMCT)
is a private sector initiative to contribute towards
betterment of the situation in its humble capacity
and meager resources.
Riphah Social Welfare department is (RSWD) is
the forefront of this endeavor with thousands of
beneficiaries and millions of funds and in-kind
support to the poor and needy. Moreover, student’s
scholarships, hospitals up gradation and patient’s
subsidies (full/partial) are some other contributions in
this context.
Vision To create a caring and integrated system of
social development services that facilitates human
development and helps to improve the quality of life
here and Hereafter.
Mission To ensure the provision of comprehensive,
integrated, sustainable social services to help reduce
vulnerability and poverty, promote productive
voluntarism, and create an enabling environment for

road safety, first aid trainings, BLS activity
during 2017-18. A community Awareness
Program on social issues also been broadcast
from Riphah FM 102.2 platform.
