Mr. Weismantel and Eureka School Board Members,

I am writing this letter to be considered as a fourth-grade teacher candidate in your

district. I am currently a student at Dakota State University and majoring in
Elementary/Special Education and minoring in reading and educational technology. With
this, I will be graduating in December of 2023. I am currently a student teacher at the
Eureka Public School District. For this experience, I worked in the middle school/high
school special education department under the direction of Mrs. Weismantel. After I
finished my requirements with Mrs. Weismantel, I transferred to the elementary special
education department under the direction of Mrs. Secker.

Through my many classroom experiences and skills, I feel that I am a worthy fourth-
grade teacher candidate for your district. I have a lot of knowledge in the different
content areas and ways to approach these subjects in a way that is effective for my
students. My biggest strengths are that I’m organized, hard-working, and easy to work
with. I am also dedicated to giving my students the best education possible by addressing
their individual needs and involving them in the classroom process. My classes at DSU
and my student teaching experiences have prepared me to teach all content areas to my
students, while incorporating technology, and to pique their curiosity as well as to
encourage them to become lifelong learners. I have learned a great deal from Mrs.
Weismantel and Mrs. Secker on how to handle unique situations with students and how
to assist students who have special needs.

I would be honored to be considered as an elementary teacher candidate in your district.

Thank you for your time and consideration; I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Erin Criddle
