TO CULMINATE I WILL PUT THE REAL DATA THAT THE

GOVERNMENT ESTABLISHED ON THE MINIMUM AND
MAXIMUM SALARY

The Government and the COB agree on a salary increase of 3% to the basic salary
and 5% to the national minimum
The meeting, which lasted several hours, was held in the presence of President Luis
Arce, at the Casa Grande del Pueblo.

“I want to announce to the Bolivian people that two important agreements have been
defined at this meeting. The first has to do with the salary increase, it has been
agreed on an increase of 3% to the basic salary and 5% to the national minimum
wage; of course retroactive to the month of January”, reported President Luis Arce.

He also announced that it was agreed to increase the maximum limit of the old-age
fund scale from Bs 5,000 to 6,000 for the mining sector. And from Bs 4,200 to 5,200
for other sectors and all workers with more than 35 years of contributions.
THE PERSONAL SKILLS JOURNAL
Entries in the journal include the following:

1. What did you learn about negotiating from this exercise?

I learned that we must prepare with our group, which is the private
sector, to debate the government and the cob with useful and important
information.
2. What surprised you about your own behavior or the behavior of
others?
I was surprised by the way my partner, who was the government, asked
us for data, statistics on everything, and those alleged statistics did not
exist. That is why with my group we prepare very well so that they do not
talk to us
3. What did you learn about yourself? What did you learn about
other people?
I learned that I and my group prepared good arguments to convince the
other party and be able to negotiate the percentages of the minimum
salary and maximum salary
4. What would you do differently if you had to do it again? Why?
What I would do differently is prepare myself and have good arguments
or use the batna because I have to make a good negotiation and reach a
good agreement to choose the percentages of the minimum salary and
maximum salary .
5. What skill were you relatively good at?
The skill that I am good at is analyzing and verifying if they are giving me
accurate information
