I Appendix G - INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

MAKE A COPY
You will attend three (3) formal interviews over the course of your CAS programs: one at
the beginning of the program, the second at the end of the first year, and the last at the end of
CAS. You can find below the questions you will need to answer.

Calendar:
Interview #1: 2nd & 3rd week of September
Interview #2: June of the first year of the IBDP
Interview #3: March/April of the second year of the IBDP

CAS FIRST INTERVEW – 2nd-3rd week of September 2022

The purpose of the first interview is to:

-check that you understand the requirements for CAS


-share ideas and tips
-provide oversight regarding your progress towards fulfilling CAS requirements
-provide the opportunity for you to reflect verbally

1. Give a brief description/explanation of what you understand CAS to be


and what are the requirements to pass CAS.

Personal Impact
2. What are your main interests? How can you incorporate your interests
into the CAS program?

3. How do you think the CAS program might help you grow as a person?
4. Think of the activities you are already doing like music or sport. How
can something you do currently become a CAS Experience with new
opportunities for advanced skills and new challenges?

Planning your CAS experiences


5. What skills and talents do you lack that you would be interested in
building?

6. What strand(s) (Creativity-Activity-Service) do you think will be the


hardest to make time for? Why?

7. Which of the 7 learning outcomes might present the biggest challenge


for you? Explain.

Thinking ahead
Start thinking about CAS activities and/or long-term projects you could get involved in.
Use Appendix A and B for inspiration! Remember that you must have a mix of:

 single experiences (a few hours to a day, no planning required e.g


participating in a marathon). Having only single experiences is not acceptable!
 series of experiences (a few days to a couple of weeks, some planning required
e.g going on a charity trip for the weekend.)
 projects (a few weeks to several months, require planning. You may not be
taking part of the leadership team here. You can just be a member. E.g being part
of a club.)
 the main project (at least one month in duration from planning to
implementation; must be collaborative; you must take part of the leadership
team to plan and implement the project)
List below some ideas you may already have! Remember that you can do something you are already engage in
but you must think of how you can improve that talent or skill. CAS is about personal growth.
