Patient Monitor System
● A patient monitoring system is an electronic medical
device. This instrument can measure the patient's vital
signs, including Electrocardiogram (ECG), respiratory
signs, blood pressure, body temperature, heart rate,
blood oxygen level, and so on, then displays these vital
signs on a screen to give the healthcare providers an
alarm of early or dangerous deterioration in a patient's
health, and transmit it on the monitoring network
Previous Studies
● Covid-19 Patient Health Monitoring System Using IoT.
● IoT based health monitoring system using RFID in pandemic life.
● Designing IoT-based independent pulse oximetry kit as an early detection tool for
covid-19 symptoms, and etc…
Research Question
● A communication between them when the nurse moves away from the
system/patient or goes to another room far away.
● To ensure the monitoring of the patient's health condition even if there is a central
monitoring and other monitoring techniques.
● The paper figures out the possibility of linking through a WIFI
communication protocol between the patient monitoring system that measures
patient vital signs, and a hand band placed on the hand of the nurse.

Setup and Test
Client Server
Alert Messages on IDE

● The serial monitor of the Arduino IDE software displays the alert message that was
sent from the server to the client.
● The client receives new messages from the server every 3 seconds.
Alert Messages on OLED

Abnormal ( < 37 ) Normal

Making Sounds (Buzzer)
● With the help of a piezoelectric buzzer, the client ensures that the nurse is alerted,
then he/she can stop the piezoelectric buzzer from making sound by pressing on the
client button

Conclusion
● This paper introduced “An Alpha Prototype of a Hand Band Connected to a
Patient Monitor for Alerting Purposes”
● Allows the nurse to be aware of the patient's condition even if he/she moves away
from him/her or goes to another room far from him/her.
● Therefore, if any problem occurs in the measured vital signs for instance
temperature, the nurse will treat the case immediately.
● To ensure the monitoring of the patient's health condition even if there is a central
monitoring and other monitoring techniques.

Future
Visiting A hospital
● Take the opinion of nurses about the
usefulness of such a system.
● Environmental factors effect on it,
such as temperature, electronic noise,
and other factors.
Vibration Motor Instead of a
Buzzer
● Making sounds with a buzzer is almost noisy for patients and medical staff.
