Jasper Ford and Manas Wick are both at the The Battle Grounds for the SMC AKA

The Show where

they see King Charles the 5th as he announces the start of the Magic and State Festival. The chapters
here will show the diffrent magics and how the city only allows people into the city every ten years. By
the end of these first few chapters Manas will talk to a travler that will tell him of a magic token that would
allow him to open up his mind to new powers and understanding.

Next Manas and Jasper will climb and mountain and attempt to get the token which will have Manas
falling to his death by the hands of Jasper because he was not strong enough to save him. Jasper who
was tied to Manas turns to the little magic he knows and tries to set the rope on fire but insted sets his
whole body on fire. The last chaper here is showing his parents sending him to hosptal to get heals and
it shows how his parents could really care less about their son. nanny

Now Jasper is older and a professor in the college and has his own class where he teaches students
how to concertrate while under stress. His students respect him but feel bad for him    because they know
how his friend died. Jasper still has a few scars on his face from when he went on fire. Jasper and
Maggie are now in the book and you find out how much Jasper and Maggie like each other.

Jasper is then summened by the king which he has never had happen before. The king tells him there
is a bad man who he feels wants to attack the city and he needs Jasper to find out who they are and
where they are and most importantly how to stop them.
Jasper leaves and starts he investagation for the king but understands that he cannot tell anyone
about what is going on.

The king then hires Lion a Air Mage who works for the Royal District to follow Jasper and find out what
he is doing. You learn a lot about how the city works from the point of few of Lion. Lion stops in a bar
where the fire mages hang out because well they never leave their hole due to class wars. Fire mages
feel they have a right to everything but due to the older mages who run the show the younger mages
tend to stay in their bounds. Lion gets into a fight with a Earth mage    when Lion tried to force a few fire
mages to tell him information. Lion is almost killed by this mage but the earth mage does not want to kill
him and lets him live. Lion hates that even though he is feared by so many the earth mages could care
less to even know his name. You learn that the earth mages do not hold any mages in their sight as
someone to fear. Lion then goes into the commons where he starts to follow Jasper around and spy on
him and maggie. Through Lion watching you learn that Maggie and Jasper are sleeping together. Lion
watches as two brothers "the puppet brothers" follow maggie. Lion wants to stop them and keep the
woman safe but as he gets closer he notices that they are just talking to her and that the woman who he
thought was going to be a victim is only part of the plot. As lion leaves so that he cannot be seen Maggie
leaves. Lion takes this chance to follow the brothers and then ask them a few questions. He calls for
backup. While he waits for backup the brothers and him talk about how things are and how they "really
are". When backup arrives he starts to take them back to the Combine for more questions but is
attacked from behind and when he wakes up everyone is dead and the brothers are gone.

Jasper has been following the brothers and sees that they are about to be taken into the combine
when his "Stone" comes to life and attacks everyone one. Jasper does not want the "stone" to attack
them but he wants to know what they did with maggie. Jasper heard Lion talk about a girl and assumes
they are talking about maggie but then he hears the brothers talk about how they killed her. "the brothers
are not telling the truth and Lion knows that but Jasper hearing that puts him into a depressed rage and
awakes the stone.

You see what the stone does and how it kills everyone    while jasper just watches. Maybe Jasper
closes a dorr trapping a few men in a bad spot? while jasper just holds the door closed with his back
while he cries to the sound of them all being killed? "Im so sorry there just is no other way?"

Lion wakes up to find everyone dead and tried to follow the trail of blood but it just stops. He knows he
only lead is Jasper and the brothers so he goes to find Jasper hoping the brothers have not killed him.
 The king's chapter is about how he gets into contact with Manas and how he wants and or needs to be
set free.    "you see they just won't let me fucking die Mana's "angry and tears" I am a king yet I have no
rule over my own mortality! I am the king of gold and sunlight the starts and the moon but I can't die. I
am a child with fancy toys and parents that overpower me and I cannot allow that any more. My death is
the only way to save the city from slowly rotting from the inside. You find out how he remembers how he
is reborn every time he dies and that for soem reason he remembers this time that when he is born his
wife dies because he tears himself from her body. He does not want that for his queen so he is cold to
her and yet wants to save her from this death.

Jasper goes home to think about what he is going to do and then goes to the castle to talk to the king.
The king calms jasper down with lies and then has the queen help jasper figure out how to find manas.
