DOLE-ZDNFO conducts Child Labor Orientation and Need Assessment to Parents of Profiled

Child Laborers in the City of Dapitan and the Municipalities of Sibutad and Manukan

Last May 18, 19, and 22, 2023 DOLE-ZDNFO through its Child Labor Prevention and Elimination
Program and DOLE Intergrated Livelihood Program conduct Child Labor Orientation and Needs
Assessment to 105 parents of profiled child laborers in the city of Dapitan and the
Municipalities of Sibutad and Manukan.

Through the collaborative efforts of DOLE-ZDNFO, the Office of the Mayor, Municipal Social
Welfare and Development Office, and the Public Employment Service Office of the said LGUs,
this Child Labor Orientation and Needs Assessment activity seeks to raise awareness among
parents regarding the detrimental impact of child labor, particularly the worst forms of child
labor, and to assess the needs of the families involved.

By understanding their circumstances and challenges, DOLE-ZDNFO can provide appropriate

interventions and assistance to support their transition away from child labor. Successful and
eligible parents will have the opportunity to receive livelihood assistance or Kabuhayan Starter
Kits, designed to alleviate their financial burdens and enable them to secure sustainable
livelihoods.

DOLE-ZDNFO remains committed to combating child labor in all its forms, in line with national
and international commitments to protect the rights of every child. By engaging parents and
communities, we can create a society where children are given the opportunity to grow, learn,
and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
