SUMMARY STATEMENT :

Water pollution is the tittle that have been selected from us for Group Project 1 under the theme
of Sustainability.

REASON :

The reason why we choose this topic because water pollution is a serious problem that affects the
entire world especially Malaysia and its brought on by numerous causes. It can seriously hurt our
health, economy and entire ecosystems. Water is a very valuable resource, and maintaining a
clean water supply around the world requires effective water treatment legislation and
administration.

OBJECTIVES :
1. To investigate the factors that caused water pollution

2. To describe the effects of water pollution in ecosystems.

3. To identify the ways in which human wastewater can cause water pollution.

SOLUTION :

1. Water pollution can have many different causes, both natural and human-made.
Investigating the factors that cause water pollution can involve a range of scientific and
technical approaches, as well as an understanding of the social and economic factors that
contribute to pollution.
2. Water pollution can also have indirect effects on ecosystems, such as by altering the
physical and chemical characteristics of the water. For example, excess nutrients from
fertilizers or sewage can cause algal blooms, which can reduce oxygen levels and create
”dead zone” where other organisms cannot survive. This can have cascading effects on
the entire ecosystem, from the smallest organisms to the largest predators.
3. There are many sources of water pollution from human waste water which is insecticides
used by gardeners. When they are applied to farmland, pesticides filter through
underground channels and reach the water network causing the water to be laced with
chemicals
