structures and how they are used to achieve interactive goals in various social
situations, in addition the techniques from conversation analysis have been
widely used across linguistic and non-linguistic disciplines alike.

 Discourse Analysis

extra linguistics factors. Discourse analysis focuses on interaction, looking
beyond the literal meaning of language, also are interested in how language can
impart meaning. This could be vocabulary, use of grammar, gestures, facial
expressions imagery, language techniques, and many more.
An essential part of discourse analysis is examining language use within
its social context. This means the societal norms, political climate, time, place,
intended audience, and the speaker's socio-cultural background must all be
considered as they can play a role in the meaning of language and how it's
interpreted.

 Critical Discourse Analysis

Is a research method for studying written or spoken language in relation to its
social context? It aims to understand how language is used in real life situations.
The purpose of critical discourse analysis is to focus on social and political
problems, mainly those involving inequality and power dominance. In the
simplest terms, this means that the focus is on how a source of influence and
power uses communication methods to influence and legitimize ideologies
within people. Unlike other forms of discourse analysis, its aim is to utilize
all analytical methods to not only describe the discourse but to explain how it
affects its targeted audiences.
