INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE Inspection and Maintenance Proper inspection and maintenance helps ensure safety and prolongs the ifeof your crane. To keep your crane in peak condition and maintain optimum performance, inspect and service it atthe recommended intervals. In ‘his way, you can prevent failures and detect problems inter eany stages. ‘Two recommended inspection and maintenance inter- vals are provided; one based on the hourmeter reading ‘and the other on calendar monthe; perform inspections ‘and maintenance according to whichever comes fist. ‘@The inspection intervals are based on the assumption that the crane is used under normal operating condi- tions. fit is used under severe or unusual condtions, shorten the intervals accordingly. ‘if you are unable to perform any inspection or mainte- nance work yourself, contact your nearest BQ-TADANO Alistibutor or dealer for assistance. [Neglecting to replace the safety parts regularly ican cause accidents. ‘Some components of your machine use parts which wear with time, It is not always easy to determine when they should be replaced, even ifthe periodic inspection |s performed as recommended. For safety. such parts must be replaced regularly. The folowing table gives the replacement intervals forthe major safety parts. Always clean grease nipples and other surfaces before epplying grease. ‘The wire ropes should be cleaned using a wire brush, compressed alr, etc., before they are greased. A Some hydraulle components remain highly Dressurized inside even after the engine has been ‘stopped. Their careless disassembly will cause ‘serious bodily inuries. Do not attempt to disassemble hydraulic components, pipings and couplings. Hf, In cold weather, the crane Is operated with a heavy load at high speed without allowing It ‘to warm up, the hydraulic components could be damaged. When the ambient temperature Is low, do. ‘ot start crate operation right away.
