1.1 Introduction
The DX342 is a portable price computing weighing machine with
an optional column–mounted head–up display. The scale is
supplied with a stainless steel weighplate. A stainless steel
produce scoop is available.
This section of this book describes the weighing machine and the
symbols used to illustrate its functions and operation. The
following sections tell you how to install and operate the weighing
machine.

2 Battery low. Replace
battery as soon as
possible
Error conditions
After switching on the scale and it has run through its test
sequence you may see one of the following error messages:
UNDERRANGE –0–
n
.... clean the pan to remove any accumulation of dirt, food etc.
Replace batteries.
BATTERY FLAT
1.5.1 Cleaning
WARNING:
TO AVOID THE POSSIBILITY OF ELECTRIC SHOCK,
DO NOT CLEAN THE MACHINE WHILE IT CONNECTED
TO A MAINS ADAPTOR. SWITCH OFF THE MACHINE,
THEN DISCONNECT THE MAINS ADAPTOR FROM THE
MACHINE BEFORE CLEANING.
Caution:
Do not use scouring cleaners or alkali cleaning
solutions such as washing soda.
The outside of the scale may be wiped with a clean cloth
moistened with water containing a small amount of detergent.
The weighplate lifts off for easy cleaning.
