User Instructions
• Screen Image retention
Do not display a still image (such as on a video game) on the plasma display panel for more than several minutes as it can cause screen image
retention. This image retention is also known as ‘screen burn’. To avoid such image retention, refer to e-Manual to reduce the degree of brightness
and contrast of the screen when displaying a still image.
• Heat on the top of the Plasma TV
The top side of the product may be hot after long periods of use as heat dissipates from the panel through the vent hole in the upper part of the
product.
This is normal and does not indicate any defect or operation failure of the product.
However, children should be prevented from touching the upper part of the product.
• The product is making a ‘cracking’ noise.
A ‘cracking’ noise may occur when the product contracts or expands due to a change in the surrounding environment such as temperature or
humidity. This is normal and not a defect of the unit.
• Cell Defects
The PDP uses a panel consisting of 2,360,000(HD-level) to 6,221,000(FHD-level) pixels which require sophisticated technology to produce. However,
there may be a few bright or dark pixels on the screen. These pixels will have no impact on the performance of the product.
• Avoid operating the TV at temperatures below 41°F (5°C)
• A still image displayed too long may cause permanent damage to the PDP Panel.
Watching the Plasma TV in 4:3 format for a long period of time may leave traces of borders displayed on the left, right and center of
the screen caused by the difference of light emission on the screen. Playing a DVD or a game console may cause similar effects to
the screen.
Damages caused by the above effect are not covered by the Warranty.
• After-images on the Screen.
Displaying still images from Video games or a PC for longer than a certain period of time may produce partial after-images.
To prevent this effect, reduce the ‘brightness’ and ‘contrast’ when displaying still images for a long time.
• Warranty
Warranty does not cover any damage caused by image retention.
Burn-in is not covered by the warranty.

Control Panel

Remote control sensor Aim the remote control towards this spot on the TV.
Power Indicator Blinks and turns off when the power is on and lights up in standby mode.

SOURCEE Toggles between all the available input sources. In the on-screen menu, use this
button as you would use the ENTERE button on the remote control.
MENU Displays an on-screen menu, the OSD (on screen display), which contains controls for
your TV’s features
y Adjusts the volume. In the OSD, use the y buttons as you would use the ◄
and ► buttons on the remote control.
z Changes the channels. In the OSD, use the z buttons as you would use the
▼ and ▲ buttons on the remote control.
P (Power) Turns the TV on or off.

Standby mode
Your TV enters Standby mode when you turn it off and continues to consume a small amount of electric power. To be safe
and to decrease power consumption, do not leave your TV in standby mode for long periods of time (when you are away on
vacation, for example). It is best to unplug the power cord.

 Installing the Wall Mount
Preparing before installing Wall-Mount
To install a wall-mount from another manufacturer, use the Holder-Ring.

Installing the Wall Mount Kit

The wall mount kit (sold separately) allows you to mount the TV on the wall.
For detailed information on installing the wall mount, see the instructions provided with the wall mount. We recommend you
assistance when installing the wall mount bracket. Samsung Electronics is not responsible for any damage to the product or
injury to yourself or others if you elect to install the wall mount on your own.

Wall Mount Kit Specifications (VESA)

✎✎Install your wall mount on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor. Before attaching the wall mount to surfaces other than
plaster board, please contact your nearest dealer for additional information. If you install the TV on a ceiling or slanted
wall, it may fall and result in severe personal injury.
✎✎NOTE
xx Standard dimensions for wall mount kits are shown in the table below.
xx Samsung wall mount kits contain a detailed installation manual and all parts necessary for assembly are provided.
xx Do not use screws that do not comply with the VESA standard screw specifications.
xx Do not use screws that are longer than the standard length or do not comply with the VESA standard screw
specifications. Screws that are too long may cause damage to the inside of the TV set.
xx For wall mounts that do not comply with the VESA standard screw specifications, the length of the screws may differ

When you turn the TV on for the first time, a sequence of on-screen prompts will assist in configuring basic settings. To turn on
the TV, press the POWERP button.
✎✎Plug & Play is available only when the Source is set to TV.
✎✎To return to the previous step in the Plug & Play sequence, select Previous, and then press ENTERE.
✎✎Before turning on the TV, make you have connected the TV to an antenna or cable connection (p. 7).

"Software Upgrade" (Preference Features → Support Menu) in the e-Manual.

4 Selecting the usage

8 Enjoy your TV. If you want to watch a broadcast program, select Close.
If you want to enjoy Smart Hub, select Smart Hub. Smart Hub will start. For more detailed

If You Want to Rerun Plug & Play...

Select System - Plug & Play (Initial Setup). Enter your 4 digit PIN number. The default PIN number is “0-0-0-0.”
If you want to change the PIN number, use the Change PIN function.
You should do Plug & Play (MENU → System) again at home although you did in shop.

xx For better picture and audio quality, connect to a digital device using an HDMI cable.
xx An HDMI cable supports digital video and audio signals, and does not require an audio cable.
–– To connect the TV to a digital device that does not support HDMI output, use an HDMI/DVI and audio cables.

xx When you connect a Digital Audio System to the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) jack, decrease the volume
of both the TV and the system.
xx 5.1 CH (channel) audio is available when you connect the TV to an external device supporting 5.1 CH.
xx When the receiver (home theater) is set to on, you can hear sound output from the TV’s optical jack. When the
TV is receiving a DTV signal, the TV will send 5.1 CH sound to the home theater receiver. When the source is a
digital component such as a DVD player / Blu-ray player / cable box / STB (Set-Top-Box) satellite receiver and
and you connected it to the TV via HDMI, you will only hear 2 CH audio from the home theater receiver. If you

Data Service (Brazil Only)
Allows the user to use information (text, still images,
graphics, documents, Software, etc.) transmitted via
broadcast media. If the channel you are currently watching
SOURCE provides data service. you can enjoy a variety of data
services.
Auto Run Data Service (On / Off)
Sets whether or not to Automatically run date service. Auto
Run Data Service automatically runs data service without
user intervention.
1. If Auto Run Data Service is On, The data serive will
automaticalluy run with loading banner.
2. Press the OK(E) button, the data service screen will be
displayed.
3. Move to a desired option by pressing the ▲ / ▼ / ◄

You can set up your TV so that it can access the Internet through your local area network (LAN) using a wired or wireless
connection.

This TV supports the IEEE 802.11a/b/g and n communication protocols. Samsung recommends using IEEE 802.11n. When
you play video over a IEEE 802.11b-g connection, the video may not play smoothly.
Most wireless network systems incorporate a security system that requires devices that access the network through an access
point or wireless router (typically a wireless IP Sharer - router or modem) to transmit an encrypted security code called an
access key.
Your TV is compatible with the following security protocols:
yy Authentication Mode: OPEN, SHARED, WPAPSK, WPA2PSK
yy Encryption Type: WEP, TKIP, AES
If you select Pure High-throughput (Greenfield) 802.11n mode and the Encryption type is set to WEP, TKIP or TKIP AES
(WPS2Mixed) on your wireless router, Samsung TVs will not support a connection in compliance with new Wi-Fi certification
specifications.

The instructions below are for networks that use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to configure network
connections automatically. If your have a Static IP network, see your user’s manual for configuration instructions.
To configure your network connection for a network that uses DHCP, follow these steps:
1. Connect your TV to your network as shown in the illustrations above.
2. Turn on your TV, press the MENU button on your remote, and then select Network → Network Settings.
3. Select the Wireless (General), press ENTERE, and then press ENTERE again.
4. The Network function searches for available wireless networks. When done, it displays a list of the available networks.
5. In the list of network, press the ▲ or ▼ button to select a network, select Next, and then press ENTERE.
6. If you have selected a wireless router that has security, the Security Key screen appears. Enter the Security key (Security
key or PIN), select Next, and then press ENTERE.
✎✎ When you enter the Security Key (Security or PIN), use ▲ / ▼ / ◄ / ► buttons on your remote to select numbers
and characters.
7. The Network Connection screen appears and verifies the network connection. When the connection has been verified, the
“Internet connection successful.” message appears. Network set up is complete.

Configuring the Network Connection - Wired
Most home networks use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to configure network connections. Home networks
that support DHCP automatically provide the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS values your TV needs to access the
Internet so you don’t have to enter them manually.
To configure your network connection for a network that uses DHCP, follow these steps:
1. Connect your TV to your network as shown in one of the illustrations above.
2. Turn on your TV, press the MENU button on your remote, and then select Network → Network Settings. The Network
Settings screen will appear.
3. Select Wired, press ENTERE, and then press ENTERE again.
4. The Network Connection screen appears, and verifies the network connection. When the connection has been verified,
the “Internet connection successful.” message appears. Network set up is completed.
✎✎If your TV cannot acquire network the connection values automatically or if you want to set the connection manually,
select IP Settings on the network test screen. Set Internet Protocol Setup to Manual. You must enter the IP
Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS Server manually.

yy Make sure the AC power cord is securely plugged in to the wall outlet and the TV.
yy Make sure the wall outlet is working.
yy Try pressing the POWER button on the TV to make sure the problem is not the
remote. If the TV turns on, refer to “The remote control does not work” below.
yy Check the cable connections. Remove and reconnect all cables connected to the
TV and external devices.
yy Set the video outputs of your external devices (Cable/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-ray etc)
to match the TV input connections. For example, if an external device’s output is
HDMI, it should be connected to an HDMI input on the TV.
yy Make sure your connected devices are powered on.
yy Be sure to select the correct input source by pressing the SOURCE button on the
remote control.
yy Reboot the connected device by unplugging and then reconnecting the device’s
power cable.
yy Replace the remote control batteries. Make sure the batteries are installed with their
poles (+/–) in the correct direction.
yy Clean the sensor’s transmission window on the remote.
yy Try pointing the remote directly at the TV from 5~6 feet away.
yy Program the Cable/Set remote control to operate the TV. Refer to the Cable/Set
user manual for the SAMSUNG TV code.

 Securing the TV to the Wall
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV may cause the TV to fall. In particular, ensure your
children do not hang over or destabilize the TV. Doing so may cause the TV to tip over, causing serious
injuries or death. Follow all safety precautions provided in the included Safety Flyer with your TV. For
added stability and safety, you can purchase and install the anti fall device as described below.

To Avoid the TV from Falling

1. Put the screws into the clamps and firmly fasten them onto the wall.
Confirm that the screws have been firmly installed onto the wall.
✎✎ You may need additional material such as an anchor depending
on the type of wall.
✎✎ Since the necessary clamps, screws, and string are not
supplied, please purchase these additionally.
2. Remove the screws from the back centre of the TV, put the screws
into the clamps, and then fasten the screws onto the TV again.
✎✎ Screws may not be supplied with the product. In this case,
please purchase the screws of the following specifications.
3. Connect the clamps fixed onto the TV and the clamps fixed onto the
wall with a strong cable and then tie the string tightly.
✎✎ NOTE
xx Install the TV near to the wall so that it does not fall
backwards.
xx It is safe to connect the string so that the clamps fixed on the
wall are equal to or lower than the clamps fixed on the TV. Wall
xx Untie the string before moving the TV.
4. Verify all connections are properly secured. Periodically check

• Retenção da imagem na tela
Não exiba uma imagem estática (como em um videogame) no painel do monitor de plasma por mais de alguns minutos, pois isso pode causar

Configuração da conexão de rede - Sem fio

As instruções abaixo servem para redes que utilizam o protocolo DHCP (protocolo de configuração de host dinâmico) para
configurar conexões de rede automaticamente. Caso tenha uma rede de IP estático, procure as instruções de configuração
no manual do usuário.
Para configurar sua conexão de rede para uma rede que utiliza o protocolo DHCP, siga os passos a seguir:
1. Conecte sua TV à sua rede da maneira exibida nas ilustrações acima.
2. Ligue sua TV, pressione o botão MENU no controle remoto e, em seguida, selecione Rede → Configurações de Rede.
3. Selecione Sem Fio (Geral), pressione ENTERE novamente.
4. A função Rede irá buscar as redes sem fio disponíveis. Quando terminar, será exibida uma lista com as redes disponíveis.
5. Na lista de redes, pressione os botões ▲ ou ▼ para selecionar uma rede e então pressione o botão ENTERE.
6. Se o Ponto de Acesso tiver segurança, insira a Senha (Segurança ou Senha) e, em seguida, selecione Concluído.

conexões de rede. Redes domésticas compatíveis com DHCP fornecem automaticamente os valores de endereço IP,
máscara de sub-rede, gateway e DNS de que sua TV necessita para acessar a Internet, fazendo com que você não precise
digitá-los manualmente.
Para configurar sua conexão de rede para uma rede que utiliza o protocolo DHCP, siga os passos a seguir:
1. Conecte sua TV à sua rede da maneira exibida em uma das ilustrações acima.
2. Ligue sua TV, pressione o botão MENU no controle remoto e, em seguida, selecione Rede → Configurações de Rede.
A tela Configurações de Rede será exibida.
3. Selecione Cabo, em seguida pressione ENTERE novamente.

caso, visite o site “www.samsung.com” e clique em Suporte, ou entre em contato com a Central de Atendimento ao Cliente

yy Certifique-se de que o cabo de alimentação CA está conectado corretamente à
tomada de parede e à TV.
yy Certifique-se de que a tomada de parede esteja funcionando.
yy Experimente apertar o botão POWER na TV para se certificar de que o problema
não seja o controle remoto. Caso a TV ligue, consulte a seção "O controle remoto
não funciona", localizada mais abaixo.
yy Verifique as conexões de cabo. Retire e reconecte todos os cabos conectados à
TV e aos dispositivos externos.
yy Defina as saídas de vídeo de seus dispositivos externos (cabo/receptor de satélite,
DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) de modo compatível com as conexões de entrada da TV.
Por exemplo, caso a saída de um dispositivo externo seja HDMI, ela deve ser
conectada a uma entrada HDMI da TV.
yy Certifique-se de que seus dispositivos conectados estão ligados.
yy Certifique-se de selecionar a fonte de entrada correta pressionando o botão
SOURCE no controle remoto.
yy Reinicie o dispositivo conectado desconectando e reconectando o cabo de
alimentação do dispositivo.
yy Substitua as pilhas do controle remoto. Verifique se as pilhas estão instaladas com
os polos (+/-) na posição correta.
yy Limpe a janela de transmissão do sensor do controle remoto.
yy Tente apontar o controle remoto diretamente para a TV, a cerca de 1,5 m.
yy Programe o controle remoto do decodificador/receptor para operar a TV. Consulte
o manual do usuário do decodificador/receptor de satélite para obter o código da
TV SAMSUNG.

 Fixando a TV à Parede
Cuidado: puxar, empurrar ou subir na TV pode fazer com que ela caia. Fique atento para que as
crianças não subam ou mexam na TV, pois a TV poderá cair e causar ferimentos graves, podendo até
levar à morte. Siga todas as precauções de segurança fornecidas no folheto de segurança incluso. Para
maior estabilidade e segurança, instale um dispositivo antiqueda conforme segue.

Para evitar que a TV caia

1. Coloque os parafusos em grampos e prenda-os na parede
firmemente. Verifique se os parafusos estão bem presos à parede.
✎✎ Você pode precisar de material extra, como um chumbador,
dependendo do tipo de parede.
✎✎ Como os grampos, parafusos e corda necessários não são
fornecidos, você deve comprá-los separadamente.
2. Remova os parafusos da parte traseira central da TV, coloque-os em
grampos e aperte-os novamente na TV.
✎✎ Os parafusos podem não ser fornecidos com o produto. Neste
caso, adquira parafusos com as especificações a seguir.
3. Conecte os grampos fixados na TV e os que estão fixados na parede
com um cabo forte e prenda-os bem.
✎✎ NOTA
xx Instale a TV próxima à parede para que ela não caia para trás.
xx É seguro conectar a corda para que os grampos fixados
na parede fiquem no mesmo nível ou abaixo dos grampos
