DISTITRON.

Unsaturated Polyester Resins.

Introduction.

DISTITRON® unsaturated polyester resin are manufactured by Because of their wettability and adhesiveness to glass fibres,
chemical reaction between bicarboxylic acids and glycols. they impart high mechanical properties to moulded parts;
The acid component may consist of saturated and unsaturated furthermore they show low water absorption and increase heat
acids. A monomer is added to set polymer viscosity and to resistance. DISTITRON® unsaturated polyester resins and
crosslink (curing) the polyester when required (usually by organic DISTITRON® VE vinylester resins may be cured both at room
peroxide addition). and at high temperature, with similar curing systems (contact our
Technical Assistance Service to be driven choosing the right
DISTITRON® resins are produced also as DCPD grades. one).

DISTITRON® VE Vinylester resins have epoxy basic polymer The range of DISTITRON® VE Vinylester resins is designed to
modified through the reaction between the epoxy resin and meet different applicative requirements, they are available as:
acrylic unsaturated carboxylic acid.
DISTITRON® VE 100 pure resin
DISTITRON® unsaturated polyester and DISTITRON® VE DISTITRON® VE 100 SC for infusion
vinylester resins are produced in a wide range of grades to fulfil DISTITRON® VE 100 ST preaccelerated thixotropic
customers needs and requirements. They are used in many DISTITRON® VE 370 SC for infusion
manufacturing fields of application, such as transports (marine, DISTITRON® VEef 220 V4 pure resin, LSC version
sandwich panels for refrigerated lorries, etc.), building (marbles DISTITRON® VEef 220 ST preaccelerated thixotropic, LSC
and agglomerates, flat and corrugated sheets, pipes, mastics version
etc.), industry (tanks, SMC/BMC, abrasives, profiles, etc.), DISTITRON® VEef 220 STZ preaccelerated thixotropic, LSC +
fashion (buttons, etc.), household (sanitary, whirlpool, seats etc.), LSE version and more...
with many different technologies such as hand lay-up, spray-up,
pultrusion, filament winding, infusion, injection, press moulding Please contact our technical assistance service to be informed
and so on. about all other DISTITRON® and DISTITRON® VE resin grades
