BYK® -P 4100
Technical DataSheet | Supplied by BYK

BYK®-P 4100 by BYK is a surface-active processing additive for filled, thermoplastic compounds and for PVC plastisols
& calendar applications. It offers reduced torque during compounding and improved printability. The output capacity &
the melt volume rate (MVR) are increased with the increase in tensile strength, E-modulus and notch impact strength in
the finished part. It is especially recommended for mineral fillers, flame retardants & wood-plastic composites (WPC) and
glass fibers HMC. In PVC plastisols, it has very good release properties from gelling drums, release papers, flat screens
and molds. It also influences the cell structure of chemically blown foams and improves resilience and increases air
permeability. In PVC calendar applications, it has very good release properties during the processing of soft, semi-rigid
and rigid PVCs. The recommended level is 0.25-2% additive (as supplied) based upon the filler. For PVC applications,
the recommended level is 0.1-3% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. The shelf life of BYK®-P 4100 is
36 months.
