Mean Age of AP Teachers 39

Analysis and Interpretation

The Araling Panlipunan Department Profile indicates an extremely dynamic background. The mean average age of AP teachers is 39
which means that most teachers belongs to young adult group. Through the personal and academic background of teachers, it is safe to presume
that teachers are highly driven in achieving their goals and the attitude to achieve success is high especially among the young teachers. However, it is also
noticeable that a sizeable number of teachers are still in the entry level position despite being in the service for many years. Thus, a strong mentoring
program is imperative in upskilling and re-tooling the instructional and professional competence of these so-called "seasoned teachers". As an instructional
mentor, I believe that an effective mentoring could only happen if there is a consensus between the mentors and mentees. It is not just the mentor who
should reach out to their mentees, but the latter should also initiate and be opened in accepting constructive criticism and technical assitance that could help
them in improving their craft as licensed professional teachers.
