The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment.

Amnesty opposes the death penalty in all cases without exception – regardless of
who is accused,
the nature or circumstances of the crime, guilt or innocence or method of
execution.

The use of the death penalty for crimes committed by people younger than 18 is
prohibited under
international human rights law, yet some countries still sentence to death and
execute juvenile defendants.
Such executions are few compared to the total number of executions recorded by
Amnesty International each year.
However, their significance goes beyond their number and calls into question the
commitment of the executing
states to respect international law. Since 1990 Amnesty International has
documented at least 158 executions of
persons who were children at the time of the crime for which they had been
convicted, in 10 countries: China,
the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South
Sudan, Sudan, the USA and Yemen.
Several of these countries have changed their laws to exclude the practice. and
there are execution methods that
are used which are beheading, hanging, lethal injection. and shooting. so basically
death penalty is all over the world

do you know how many innocent person are killed to this due to false accusation?
let me take an example, about george stinney
jr. an African American boy, who at the age of 14 was convicted, in a proceeding
later vacated as an unfair trial, and executed,
for the murders of two young white girls in March 1944 — Betty June Binnicker, age
11, and Mary Emma Thames, age 7 — in his hometown
of Alcolu, South Carolina. He was convicted, sentenced to death, and executed by
electric chair in June 1944, thus becoming the youngest
American with an exact birth date confirmed to be sentenced to death and executed
in the 20th century. eventually after 70 years
after his execution george stinney jr. was innocent. i know there is a racism part
here but about the death penalty was it really the
solution? this death trial don't even choose age. and the way it is reinforced by a
poor justification system makes it even more
devastating. everyone, WE KNOW THAT, TOGETHER, WE CAN END THE DEATH PENALTY
EVERYWHERE.

Every day, people are executed and sentenced to death by the state as punishment
for a variety of crimes –
sometimes for acts that should not be criminalized. In some countries, it can be
for drug-related offences,
in others it is reserved for terrorism-related acts and murder. thats why death
penalty must be abolished.
