Hello, my name is Meena, I am 16 years old, and I am from South Korea.

Today, I am going to talk about

persistence. Persistence is the quality of continuing steadfastly in an activity, effort, or course of action
despite difficulties, obstacles, or setbacks. It involves the ability to stay focused, determined, and
resilient in pursuing goals or objectives. Here are some key aspects of persistence:

First, persistence often requires resilience, which is the ability to recover quickly from setbacks, adapt to
changing circumstances, and maintain a positive mindset. It involves bouncing back from failures or
rejections and using them as learning experiences to fuel further progress.

Next, persistence is typically directed toward a specific goal or desired outcome. It involves setting clear
objectives and consistently taking steps towards achieving them, even when faced with challenges or
delays. This focus helps maintain motivation and drive.

Also, persistence requires adaptability, the ability to adjust strategies, approaches, or plans when
necessary. It involves learning from failures, seeking alternative solutions, and being open to new ideas
or perspectives to keep making progress.

Persistence often requires patience, as desired outcomes may take time to achieve. It involves
understanding that progress or success may not come immediately.

Lastly, Learning and Growth: Persistence fosters a mindset of continuous learning and personal growth. It
allows individuals to develop new skills, expand their knowledge, and gain valuable experiences through
ongoing effort and dedication.

Persistence can be applied to various aspects of life, whether it's pursuing educational or career goals,
developing relationships, overcoming personal challenges, or making positive lifestyle changes. It is a
valuable trait that can lead to increased opportunities, accomplishments, and personal fulfillment.
Famous people including Thomas Edison, known for his persistence and hard work in developing
numerous groundbreaking inventions. Or J.K. Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter series, who
faced a lot of rejections before succeeding, and also Serena Williams, as the result of her success was
due to her extraordinary talent and tireless work ethic, consistently dedicating herself to training and
improving her skills.

However, it's important to balance persistence with flexibility and the ability to reassess goals or
strategies when needed. While persistence or hard work is admirable, it's also important to recognize
situations where adjustments or changes may be necessary or to adapt to changes, and not forcing and
stressing yourself by doing hard work and pushing through.

These are my thoughts of persistence and hard work. Thank you for listening to my speech.
