INTRODUCTION

RATIONALE

In the past years, there are research and studies that are conducted regarding impulsive

buying. The description of the thoughts and feelings that consumers have when engaging in

impulsive purchasing is how Rook and Fisher described impulsive purchase behavior.

(Mingming & Guicheng, 2022).

According to the study of (Aragoncillo & Orus, 2018), through the evaluation of the

goods and services they use, social media users share a wide range of experiences. Sharing

images of their products and making suggestions, this behavior is encouraging customers to

influence others. These behaviors may encourage impulsive and unforeseen purchases.

Additionally, recommendations and views influence not just consumers' purchasing patterns but

also the development of positive brand perceptions, which in turn encourages impulsive

purchases. Furthermore, Social networks may be a significant factor in driving impulsive

purchasing. According to our study's findings, Facebook and Instagram are very widely used.

Participants also acknowledged that these social media platforms have sparked some impulsive

spending and indicated a clear intention to use them to make purchases. Instead, Twitter is the

social media platform with the lowest potential to trigger impulsive purchases. Additionally,

social networks are taken into account by online consumers of clothing and accessories as a

source of inspiration that may influence their purchasing decisions.

2
Based on my observation internationally, the internet has a big influence on impulsive

buying behavior because of its convinience. Also, Many of the young generation tend to

purchase the product or services that influencers promote and other people are encourage to

buy the products that is promoted in online platforms like facebook, tik tok, instagram, twitter,

etc. because of this, marketers take the advantage of this behavior and uses influential people

to promote their business and increase their sales, this seems to be an effective strategy that is

used ever since the internet was invented. In addition, the study of (Lubis et al., 2020) Human

nature is often consuming, which means that consumers consume things consistently or always

offering services. Consumptive conduct starts to occur due to satisfying a variety of needs, but

also Implusive Behavior to conform to the market's expanding trends in order to satisfy their

wants to live more sociable lives.

If we’re going to compare online impulsive buying behavior internationally to the

Philippines. Millennials in the Philippines are highly prone to impulsive buying, but these

millennials exert efforts to review the products and ensure both safety of the consumer and the

products by reviewing posted reviews of the consumers who bought the products online. This

shows the analytical ability of filipino millennials before buying the products, ofcourse filipino

people love to buy cheap or affordable products with good quality. Also most of the millennials

consider the price and the budget they have before purchasing, in this case Filipino millennials

are not considered as impulsive consumers.

According to (Nartea & Santos, 2019) Online buyers prioritize Sales Promotion.

Consider before purchasing things on the internet. Advertising, logistics, and the social

environment. Feedback and the payment process are also important considerations. consider

when shopping online because it affects their purchasing behavior. Customers search for

trusted online retailers by reading internet reviews and feedback prior to the buyer making a

purchase. They frequently seek information on the product and the online retailers. Online

buyers place a higher importance on service delivery. than the product's price. They would

rather businesses that might deliver their products on schedule and of high quality. Customers

are also concerned about the payment process. take care. They like stores that pay well.

method and alternatives valuing securityand reliability of the accounts to avoid frauds and

hacks.

According to National Institutes Of Health, Impulsive buying is a behavior but doing it too

much can lead to compulsuive buying disorder (cbd). It is a disease that is caused by repetive

and excessive buying that affects or intervenes in your daily life.

METHODOLOGY

This portion consists of a complete analysis of the procedure and methods to be done in the

conduct of this investigation. This chapter includes participants and other sources of data

information, data gathering method, and data analysis plan.

PARTICIPANTS AND OTHER SOURCES OF DATA INFORMATION

In this study the researcher will use descriptive research design. A descriptive research

design seeks to investigate and conceptualize human experience through textual

representation. Descriptive researchers work with small samples of participants to obtain rich

and free-ranging discourse in order to conduct in-depth explorations of the meanings people

assign to their experiences. In general, this involves interviewing people about the topic of

interest, but it may also include document analysis. The researcher will use this method as their

research design to explain the online impulsive buying behavior of grade 12 abm students in

turac national highschool.

The researcher utilized a qualitative research method for the investigation. Qualitative

research entails gathering and evaluating non-numerical data (such as text, video, or audio). It

can be utilized to uncover intricate details about a situation or to spark fresh study concepts. To

better comprehend ideas, opinions, or experiences.(Bhandari, 2020). The qualitative technique

is used to comprehend people's attitudes, interactions, behaviors, and beliefs. It also produces

6
non-numerical data. Another meaning of qualitative research is the investigation of the nature of

phenomena. It is especially helpful for analyzing complex multi-component treatments, focusing

on the creation of interventions, and figuring out why something is noticed (or not). (Busetto et

al., 2020).

This study will be conducted at Turac National Hisghschool, San Carlos City,

Pangasinan during the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023.

The researcher will gather all grade 12 abm students of Turac National High School, San

Carlos City, Pangasinan. Purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling technique used in

research to select individuals or groups of individuals who meet specific criteria pertinent to the

study question or aim. When the population under investigation is too small, too difficult to

reach, or too diverse to use probability sampling methods. The purposive sampling approach,

also known as judgmental sampling or selective sampling. This sampling method is also

frequently used by other researchers. The grade 12 abm students in turac national high school

has 40 students in total which means that the target respondents of the researcher is 40 people.

In this research, In this study, the researchers utilized a structured interview. A

structured interview is a data gathering strategy that involves asking questions in a

certain order to gather information on a specific topic. It is one of four different kinds of

interviews. In this study the researcher will use open-ended questions. The respondents will

be interviewed one by one and personally .

7
DATA GATHERING METHOD

The researcher will conduct an interview personally to collect data from the respondents.

The researcher will ask the respondents consent regarding the interview. The researcher i'll

keep the information obtained from the respondents confidential.

DATA ANALYSIS PLAN

In this study the researcher will use thematic analysis. According to (Rashid,

2022), research data analysis is a method that researchers employ to simplify data to a

story and analyze it in order to collect insights. The data analysis technique helps in

breaking down large amounts of data into smaller sections.
