Title of the Movie: PK
Summary:
An innocent and childlike alien arrived at the world where people believed in Gods. An alien
named PK arrive in the Earth and lost his remote and the only think he brought from his world here on
Earth. His remote was stolen by the first person he met when he arrived. PK attempted to retrieve his
remote but manages to take the radio recorder of the man. He late learns that being naked isn’t normal
here on earth, so he begins to steal a some clothes and money to a couples that is having a sex in the
cars. PK met Bhairon assumed that PK is suffering a memory loss. Bhairon takes PK to motel and the he
met a prostitute there. Over there, he holds the hands of the prostitute for several hours, he later learns
the language, because PK has an ability to tranfer a memory from another person by holding his/her
hands.
While Jaggu is having the best time of her life in Belgium and falling in love with a man
named Safaraaz, they decided to marry each other against their parents will. But sadly Safaraaz didn't
show up at the wedding. Jaggu decided to return to India and work for a News Channel. After that she
met PK at the train station searching for Gods. PK later discover that Tapasvi has his remot. However,
Tapasvi claims that he got that from Himalayas, and refuse to give it back to PK. Jaggu follows where PK
is going because she is interested to PK and make a contact. PK tell her the whole story and why he’s
here. But Jaggu didn’t believe him at first. But PK manages to prove to Jaggu that he is telling the truth.
After that Jaggu convinces her boss to make a TV show with PK to expose Tapasvi. After that one of
Tapasvi staff comes to the studio to confront PK. In the same TV show, Tapasvi brings up Jaggu´s bad
experience with Safaraaz to prove a point. Due to PK’s request, Jaggu tries to contact Safaraaz which
leads her to call tah Pakistan Embassy in Belgium. The Embassy told that Safaraaz is calling the embassy
every day asking if Jaggu has called. After they talked to each other the misunderstanding between them
is cleared and PK got his remote back.
In the process of helping PK to got his remote back, PK fell in love with Jaggu but chooses not
to tell her because Jaggu is in love with Safaraaz. PK is coming back to his world and Jaggu decided to
accompany him with his departure. Jaggu discovers that the suitcases of PK is full of batteries and
recording tapes with her voice so PK constantly hears her voice into his world. While departing Jaggu ask
PK what is in the recording, PK lied and says that it was animals and traffic sounds.
After PK left the Earth, Jaggu published a book about PK and how much he misses him. After
one year PK comes back at Earth with his research team.

1. What is the central idea of the movie?
- I think the main idea or the main purpose of the movie PK is about the religions amd
belief here on Earth. There is a lot of religion and different understanding about Gods
and has different beliefs. We do have different perspectives and stance about religion,
some people doesn’t believe in Gods but some people devoted their whole life believing
in God.
2. How can you relate this movie to our topic? (Eastern Tradition)
- I think the movie PK is connected to our topic about eastern traditions because there is
so many things that is related to our topic that shows in the movie. First, when PK
arrived on Earth he has nothing to wear so he depends to couples who is having sex to
have something to wear. Second, when PK can’t speak any language he deoends to
others by touching them to read or to move their memory. Lastly, I think if PK didn’t
understand our culture and beliefs I don’t think that he will last that long here on eart.
Just like John Donne said “No man is an island” means that we need to depends on
other in order for us to live.
3. What is the lesson of the story and how can you relate it to your “Spiritual Self”?
- The lesson of the movie is that we just need to respect what other people believed in
and lying sometimes isn’t bad but can also help you to move-on or to forget others just
to become better you. I think that it is related to spiritual self because sometimes I feel
so empty just like PK got when hebfirat arrived here on Earth.
4. What is your favorite scene in the movie?
- My favorite scene is the departure of PK because that is the only time when Jaggu
knows the true feelings of PK for her. The other is when PK and Tapasvi faced each other
in the live television because PK tell to other what he felt about losing a friend and
winning the argument against Tapasvi and reclaiming his remote from Tapasvi.
5. PK became a controversial film in India because it tackles “One god and God’s made by
Human” what can you say about the sensitive topic?
- I think the idea “One god and God’s made by human” is true because at the end of the
day there is only one God and the only God who makes us all. But I respect what other
cultures and beliefs are. But for me there is jus only ine God, The God that created the
Universe and the God that gives us a meaningful life.
