Over the past few years, many people still hold the view that gaining knowledge from

practical
experience has a better position than from books. However, from my point of view, gaining knowledge
from books plays a very important role in modern life.

There’s no doubt that books are fantastic sources of information since they hold all the knowledge of
generations from the past till now. People record everything they experience in their life, a discovery or
an invention, and write them into books. So, the moment people read books, they are gaining
knowledge about previous achievements from books, analyzing them, and then, from their experience
and new data, they write new books. Obviously, books are the key to humankind’s knowledge.

For example, in old times people believed that we are the center of everything the Moon, the Sun, and
the stars are the ones that go around the Earth. However, through centuries, from many records and
research, people finally find that they are not in the center, but just a Solar System member and go
around the Sun with other planets, and in addition, there are tons of planets besides the Solar System.

Personally, I believe that books are very important since their ability to give people basic and
fundamental knowledge. Since they are the holders of events, discoveries, and inventions, it is
impossible to move forward without them.

All things considered, it can be concluded that books are essential to our life. Moreover, they are also
indispensable companions combined with one’s experience in moving forward to a better future.
