Activity (10 min.) Pagsamasamahin ang mga mag-aaral sa bawat pangkat. Bawat pangkat ay
bibigyan ng guro ng isang cartolina at envelop kung saan nakasulat ang
nakatakdang antas ng katayuan sa lipunan na nakatakda sa bawat grupo. Ang
bawat envelop ay naglalaman ng larawan at mga piraso ng papel kung saan
nakasulat ang mga taong napapabilang sa antas na nakatakda sa bawat grupo
at mga katangian nila. Ang larawan na kasama ng mga piraso ng papel ang
magsisilbing clue sa pagsasagawa ng aktibiti.

Matapos magawang piliin ang sa tingin na napapabilang sa antas na nakatakda


sa bawat grupo at ang kanilang mga katangian, ididikit ng mga mag-aaral ang
mga ito sa cartolinang binigay ng guro.

Ang sinaunang lipunan ng Pilipinas ay binubuo ng tatlong antas, ito ay ang mga
sumusunod:

Maharlika- binubuo ng Datu, Raja, at Sultan, mga asawa na tinatawag na


Dayang o Lakambini, pamilya ng Datu at iba pang kamag-anak ng Datu.

Timawa- sila ay mga mandirigma, mga mangangalakal, mga karaniwang

Abstraction (20 min.)
Alipin- binubuo ng dalawang sangkay: Aliping namamahay ang tawag sa
pinakamataas na uri ng alipin sapagkat sila ay mayroong sariling pamamahay at
maaring magtaglay ng mga ari-arian; Aliping sanguiguilid ang tawag sa mga
alipin na nakatira sa mismong Maharlika o Timawang kanyang pinaglilingkuran.

Ang antas ng katayuan sa lipunan ng isang tao noong sinaunang panahon ay


hindi permanente o panghabang-buhay. Ang bawat meyembro ay maaring
tumaas o bumbaa sa antas ng kanyang kinabibilangan depende sa kanyang
pagpupursige at pagkakamalaing ginawa.

4.5 Ang guro ay papangkatin ang klase ng dalawang grupo. Bawat grupo ay

estduyante ang mga katangian ng mga taong napapabilang sa tatlong antas nga
katayuan sa lipunan ng ating tinalakay.

Social Science is a branch of science that deals with the institutions
and functioning of human society and with the interpersonal
relationships of individuals as members of society, whereas Applied
Science is the application of existing scientific knowledge to practical
applications, like technology or inventions.
Applied social sciences are those social science disciplines,
professions and occupations which seek to use basic social
science research and theory to improve the daily life of communities,
organizations and persons.

THE UTTERMOST GOAL OF SOCIAL SCIENCE IS TO ANSWER DIFFERENT QUESTIONS AND
PROBLEMS ABOUT THE SOCIETY AND HUMAN CONDITION ON HOW TO IMPROVE IT.

ANTHROPOLOGY

The study of what makes us human.

The scientific study of humans and human behavior & societies in the past and present.

ECONOMICS

Economics is a social science concerned with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and
services.

GEOGRAPHY

The study of places and the relationships between people and their environments.

HISTORY

The discipline that studies the chronological record of events (as affecting a nation or people), based
on a critical examination of source materials and usually presenting an explanation of their causes.

LINGUISTICS

The scientific study of language and its structure.

It involves analyzing language form, language meaning and language in context.

PSYCHOLOGY

The scientific study of the mind and behavior. It is a multifaceted discipline and includes many sub-fields of
study such areas as human development, sports, health, clinical, social behavior, and cognitive processes.

SOCIOLOGY

Sociology is the study of human social relationships and institutions. Sociology’s subject matter is diverse,
ranging from crime to religion, from the family to the state, from the divisions of race and social class to the
shared beliefs of a common culture, and from social stability to radical change in whole societies.

DEMOGRAPHY

The study of a population based on factors such as age, race, and sex. Governments, corporations, and
nongovernment organizations use demographics to learn more about a population’s characteristics for many
purposes, including policy development and economic market research.

APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCE



The study that uses the knowledge-based theories, principles, and methods of interdisciplinary disciplines of
basic social science to understand the society and to help address or solve a social problem or practical
problem in society.
COUNSELING

Empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and
career goals.

It involves helping people make needed changes in ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

SOCIAL WORK

It focuses on social change, problem-solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of
people to enhance social justice.

COMMUNICATION

Focuses on how humans use verbal and nonverbal messages to create meaning in various contexts across
cultures using a variety of channels and media.
