The completed exercise
1. Open the exercise file:
L1_04_Switchystems.rvt. This exercise file has the following file linked: ARCH_LINK.rvt.
2. To create a switch system, first select a
lighting fixture in EXAM 1-4. Then, in the contextual ribbon, click Switch to create the switch system.

3. With the switch system selected, click Edit Switch System on the contextual ribbon.
4. With Add to System selected, select the
other lighting fixture in EXAM 1-4.
5. In the contextual ribbon, click Select
Switch and then select the occupancy sensor in EXAM 1-4.
6. On the Options bar, the Switch ID shows
the selected switch and the Number of Fixtures shows the number of lighting fixture on the switch system. Click Finish Editing System.

7. Another method to create a witch system is to select all the lighting fixtures on the system first. Select the two lighting fixtures in EXAM 1-3 and then click Switch in the contextual ribbon.
8. In the contextual ribbon, click Select
Switch and then select the occupancy sensor in EXAM 1-3. Be aware the only one switch can be added to a switch system.
