The amendments are clearly identified with blacked out text; where applicable, cleared alternative language is provided in the margins. Also enclosed is a stamped copy of the first page of the manuscript The amendments protect from release classified national security information and unclassified information that may lead to the compromise of classified information. The amendments may not be exclusive to the Department of Defense (DoD), as manuscript reviews often require consultation with other federal agencies that own information in the manuscript.
